Graduation exercises
were held at .the Holiday
Inn City Centre and Mr.
and Mrs. 'Earl Harrison
attended.
Cheryl is presently
employed at Howells
Distributing of First
Street, London.

of the Association,
presented her with a
scholarship of $200. This
scholarship is awarded to
a deserving Grade 13
student who is registered
in a home economics
course for further study.
Audrey is presently
taking a four year course
in Human Nutrition at
Guelph University- .....
Audrey's home
economics scholarship is
in addition to the Ontario
Scholarship and the A.J.
Moore Memorial
Scholarship which ' she
received at the G.D.C.I.
annual commencement
held on September.28,

Equine Studies course at
Humber College in
Toronto.
Barbara is now in her
second year of the two
year course and recently
received work experience
at the Royal Winter Fair.

terested in sailing ships
and steamers, may also
be interested in a new
exhibition at the Royal
Ontario Museum's
Canadiana Building, 19
Queen's Park Crescent,
West, Toronto.
The ,exhibition, which
opened November 23 and
runs to April 6, 1980,
features approximately
60 "ship portraits" of
sailing ships and
steamers which once
plied Canadian waters.
Each of the vessels is
identified by name to
provide an intriguing
record of Canada's
maritime history from
mid -18th to the early 20th
century,
The exhibition is
complemented -with a
display of ship models,

navigational instruments
and books.

Starting Friday,
December 7, babysitting
services will be offered at
the Livery Theatre from 2
to 5 p.m. This- is a good
chance for mothers to
drop their children off

and do some Christmas
shopping for the, af-
ternoon.
Hot lunches are still
being served at the
Livery Theatre over the
noon hour on Thursdays
and Fridays and this
week you will notice that
the "country kitchen" at

Accounts totalling
more than $19,000 were
presented and ordered
paid when Goderich
Township Council met in
regular "session on
November 19.
Over $10,000 of this;
total was paid to .the
Treasurer of Ontario for
tile debentures and over
$6,000 was for the road
superintendent pay roll.
Building permits were
requested by Cale
Doucette for a rabbit
barn arida house; and by
Albert Schilbe for a sugar
shanty. Coucil passed a
motion to issue a permit
to Schilbe but to hold the
permit requested by
Doucette for a barn until
receiving a certificate of
compliance. Council .also
decided to hold the
permit requested by
Doucette for a house until
the barn is built and
operational.
Mr. Fagin • and Mr.
Tofflemire were present
at the council meeting to
present facts regarding
the recent survey on
'assessment studied under
section 86. Council passed
a motion to request the
Minister to issuer.,..taew
assessment notices for
1980, under section 86.
By-law number 16,
1979,.a by-law to provide
for the Yeo -Van der Waal
Extension Drain, was
given three readings and
passed.
