HomeMy WebLinkAboutThe Goderich Signal-Star, 1979-11-08, Page 66Page 32 GLUTEN FREE -COCONUT CAKE One-third cup of butter(margarine) 1/2 cup of sugar 2 eggs 1/4 cup of Crisco oil 1 tsp. vanilla 1 cup of Celimix pastry flour 1 pkg. lemon instant pudding mix 1/2 cup coconutl tsp. baking powder salt Mix all these ingredients, then add 1/2 cup of milk. Bake in a well greased loaf tin (small) at 375 degrees for about 3/4 of an hour. By Janet A. Talbot Bayfield CHRISTMAS CHERRY ALMOND CAKE 1 cup butter 1/2 cup almonds 11/2 cups glace cherries 21/2 cups sifted flour 2 teaspoons baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. vanilla 1 tsp. lemon extract 11/ cups granulated sugar 4 eggs well beaten 11/2 tablespoons lemon juice 1 tsp. almond extract 1/ cup milk Mix for light fruitcake. Use greased and lined large size Christmas cake tin 8 x 8 x 31/ inches. Bake at 300 degrees (slew oven) for 11/2 to 13/ hours. Delicious. Place • a small amount of whipped cream between cake pieces to hold them together. Then frost cake, rounding off corners to create a round appearance. Sprinkle with coconut.
