of Karate. Following the
ceremony, a reception
was held at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. Steve
Brennan.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack
Wright of Ham iota,
Manitoba are spending
their vacation with Mr.
and Mrs. Alvin Betties.
''The first class of Indoor
Gardening was held in
the Holmesville Church.
Instructing . the class
were Mrs. Eldon Yeo and
Mrs. Fran Powell. The
two instructors brought
about 25 plants to view
and name and demon-
strated the replanting of
plants. Next class to be on
Thursday when dish
gardens and terrariums
are to be made. •
Holmesville 4-H
Meeting six and seven
of the 4-H Stitcheroos
took place at the
Holmesville public school
recently. The meetings,
were opened with the 4-H
pledge followed by the
secretarial report.
The roll call was "An
example of ' a design
which shows one of the
stitches learned in
previous meetings.
Include in project
manual;" and "Show
your completed
needlepoint project and -
or free choice article.
Discuss any new stitches
used."
For meeting six
members discussed and
did the binding stitches
about the squares..
For meeting seven
members started with
routine work (roll call
and secretarial report).
followed up by a craft
quiz which was later
marked. The rest of the
-meeting--was - -used_ to
complete the members'
pamphlets.
The eighth meeting of
the "Nifty Needlers'club
was held on November 5
at the home - of Mrs:
Corrie Brand.
Some members had
their needle / point
finished, others needed
some more instructions.
A few of the members
handed in their page for
the needlepoint file. A
couple of the girls needed
.pictures of various
stitches and needlepoint
so we hunted through
magazines for these.
The Goderich Kinettes recently made a $200 con-
tribution to the Huron County Christmas Bureau
under the auspices of Family and Children's Ser-
vices. Left to right, are Diane Armstrong, Kinette
treasurer and co-ordinator of Goderich's Christmas
Bureau, Molly Burke of Exeter who accepted the
cheque as the co-ordinator of the county bureau,
Helga Wirtzfeld, Kinette president and Adele•

enmiller bowlers win
The Western Ontario
Forester's Bowling
Tournament was held in
Mount Forest on Sunday,
October 28. There were
eight teams from
Western Ontario in this
tournament. The two
teams from Benmiller
were in the winnings.
One Benmiller team
won the top spot with
each of the members
winning a trophy. Leone
Thom won high single,
Bob Rising won the men's
high six with a score of
1,429 and Mary Bisset of
Goderich won high triple
for the second team from
Benmiller.
It was a happy group of
bowlers who returned
home from the tour-
nament and it speaks well
for the Benmiller teams.

Following the in-
sfallation a social time
was held.

November 22 to Wed-
nesday, November 21.
The meeting will start at
1 p.m. at Carlow Hall and
at 1'.-30 p.m. Mrs. Cathy
Thompson, nutrition
specialist with the Huron
County Health Unit and
Grace Bird, home
economist, will
demonstrate, "Common
sense approach to
nutrition and cooking for
one or two". ThiS is a
program offered to all
those who would like to
share and take home
some new ideas on meal
planning and nutrition as
it affects them. Also
emphasized will he
cooking for one or two
with food demonstration
and recipe books. This is
offered free of charge and
free recipe booklets will
be available.
Anyone interested is
cordially welcome and
members of the Institute
are asked to mark their
calendars now for this
special meeting and
bring a friend._

Mr. and -Mrs. Glen
MacCuspey_- and family
have sold their home at
Dunlop Corner, Sunset
Beach Road and have
moved to Goderich where'
they will reside on East
Street. Mr.- and Mrs.
George McLeod have
purchased the former
MacCuspey home in
Colborne and the com-
munity welcomes them to
the township.
