The Community
Memorial Hall Board met
for its fall meeting in the
hall with the chairman,
Ralph Campbell in the
chair.
The minutes were
accepted as read by the
secretary, Mrs. Donald
Haines.
Discussions took place
regarding changing
some of the lights and
also making new shelves
and cupboards.
It was alto decided to
purchase paint for the
furnace pipes around the
hall.
A panic bar will be
placed on one of the back
doors.
Representatives
present at the meeting
were Reeve Joe Hunking,
Thomas Cunningham,
Kenneth Scott, James
Glousher; Ralph Cam-
pbell and Mrs. Eleanor
Bradnock.
4-H NEWS
Historically, many
Articles were
needlepointed for per-
sonal use and household
items. This was just one
of the topics discussed at
the fifth meeting of the
Auburn 2, 4-H club. It was
held at the home of Mrs.
Cunningham.
The roll call was an-
swered by showing -a
picture depicting the
history of needlepoint. --
The members were
shown how to block their
finished pieces of
needlepoint• as well as
finish their coasters or
pillovvs•and the history of
needlepoint was read.
The home assignment
for each member was to
block her needlepoint
article and to bring a
picture of one of the
stitches learned in the
club.
The care and cleaning
of needlepoint was one of
the main topics discussed
at the sixth meeting of the
Auburn 2, 4-H club, the
Needle Pointers.
Each member showed
a picture of one of the
stitches learned in the
club for'the roll call.
The mounting and
framing of the
needlepoint article as
well as the care and
cleaning were discussed.
The khife edge pillow was
also mentioned.
The home assignment
was to finish the complete
coaster or pillow.
A Hallowe'en party was
held on November 3 for.
the Auburn 2, 4-H club
members as their
seventh meeting. The
meeting, was opened by
the first vice-president,
Pam Losereit, who said
the 4-H pledge.
The members wrote
and filled -out a'quiz on the
entire club.
A party followed which
consisted of games and a
dance. Each member
made her own submarine
and enjoyed chips and
punch. A midnight walk
followed.
WALKERBURN CLUB
The Walkerburn Club
held its October meeting
at the home of Mrs.
Leonard Archambault.
Mrs. Ronald Gross
opened the meeting with
a poem, October Gave a
Party. Mrs. Roy Daer led
in prayer.
Theroll call .was an-
swered by .10 members
and five guests who gave
a donation for the support,
of the club's foster child.
' The draw prize,
donated by Mrs. Tom
Cunningham, was won by
Mrs. Ronald Gross.
Plans were made for
the next 'meeting to he
" held on November 27 at 2
p.m. at the home of Mrs.
Joe Hunking. The lunch
committee will be Mrs.
Lloyd Penfound and Mrs.
Arthur Wright.. The

Mrs. Leonard
Archambault.
BIRTHDAY PARTY,
Mrs. Eleanor Bradnock
was honoured last
Wednesday when friends
gathered in the Com-
munity Memorial Hall for
a surprise birthday party
at 1 p.r`rr.
Mrs. Donald Haines
welcomed the guests and
Mrs. Gordon Dobie was in
charge of the guest list
and birthday cards. The
white linen covered table
was centred with a
beautifully decorated
birthday cake with
candles, flanked by white
candles in silver holders.

Following the serving
of the dessert, Mrs.
Haines , acted ,as chair-
man and welcomed •all.
She had over 50 ladies
reminiscing about by-
gone days when they first
knew Eleanor. Some
have known her all her
life, others just a few
months.
Eleanor thanked
everyone for corning and
marking the occasion and
also the friends who had
arranged the event.
4-H NEWS,
The Auburn I, 4-H club
met at the home of Mrs.
Donald Cartwright on
October 29. President,
Kim -McDowell, opened
the meeting with the 4-H
pledge.
The minutes were
accepted as rea11 by
Diane Hanna and
business was discussed.
Since Achievement
Day • is drawing closer
every week and with the
seventh and last 4-H
Penny savers enjoy dinner
Fifty-two penny savers
of the UCW of,.
Holmesville Church went
to the White Carnation for
a dinner on October 30.
Following the dinner, the
ladies returned to the
church where the losing
team entertained the
winners to an evening• of
games and contests. Mrs.

Phyllis Cox read
humorous readings.
Hamlet notes
A group meeting was
called to form a senior
citizens - group in the
Holmesville Church. A
discussion was held on
how' the senlor-s-can-help-
with the input to the new
proposed hall. MI-. Gerry
Ginn showed the
proposed plan for the new
hall. Mrs. Jean Lobb was
appointed president and
Mrs. Marion ,Powell,
secretary. Plans are.
being made for a get
together soon. Watch for
further notice.

Mrs. Cartwright and
Mrs. Hildebrand showed
the girls the finishing
touches for pillows and
wall hangings. They also
discussed •the second
binding stjtch and helped
to iron out any problems
the members had.
The seventh and last
meeting will be held at
the home of Mrs. John
Hildebrand at 7 p.m.
