While Mrs. ' Pithlado
was in Newfoundland,
she attended a Cancer
Society meeting at
Stevenville and had a
tour of the new plant
there..
z he visited Cor-
n'efbrook, which is a
beautiful city and several
places in the vicinity.
Toward the southwest
coast the land is very
rocky with no good sized
trees, just what we would
call shrubs, she reported.
The climate, while she
was there, was rain and
fog with the odd bit of
sunshine.
She also attended the
United Church in
Stevenville one Sunday
and was surprised to find
the minister knew the
Reverend ,John Wood of
Victoria Street United
Church in Goderich quite
well when Mr. Wood was
in Newfoundland, He had
lost contact but was
pleased to hear of his
whereabouts.
