Town Solicitor, Dan
Murphy, was present at
the Goderich Airport

October 17 to discuss two
different items.
With regards to the
erection of "T" Hagars at
the airport by ,Hangars

agreement and it ap-

However, he said
Hangars Unlimited must
form into a partnership in
order to sign the
agreement and must also
have a legal survey
prepared before a lease
can be entered into.
The airport committee
directed secretary Ken
Hunter to inform the
spokesman for Hangars
Unlimited, Fred
Bruinsma, of these
requirements.
Murphy then -went on to
discuss tree trimming at
the west end of runway

ramifications of the tree
cutting. In essence, he
said that the town could
not cut any more trees as
the cottagers' association
may sue the town for the
tree cutting in the past.

The committee then
passed a motion that
Murphy be authorized to
negotiate with Mr.
Cherniak, the lawyer for
the cottagers'
association, for the right
to cut trees in the park
reserves and the two west
streets and report back to
the committee before the
next meeting.
The aiport committee
went oh to discuss a sub-
committee report with
regards to the proposed
airport terminal and
passed a motion that the
architectural firm- of
Snider, Reichard and
March be authorized to
submit a general floor
plan and artist's sketch of
a proposed terminal
based on the information
proposed to Don Snider at
the March 1, 1979 meeting
of the New Terminal
Committee for the -price
as quoted at $250 and as
approved by th com-
mittee at the March 21,
1979 m-eeting.
A discussion took place
with regard to the lack of
attendance by the county
representatives at the
airpujt committee
meetings. A motion was
passed to have the
secretary send a let -ter to
the County Clerk asking
that their representatives
to the Goderich Airport
Committee be told to
attend the regular
scheduled meetings. •
Airport co-ordinator Ed
Scruton presented his
report to the committee
for the month of Sep-
tember. °
He said the Depart-.
n
ment of Transport
Canada visited the air-
port on September 12 to
conduct its annual in-
spection of the facility.
The only areas which
the department found
requiring attention were
trees violating runways
15,22 and 10.
Scruton reported the
trees on runways 15 and
22 cut as instructed
because they were on
airport proPerty and
presented no problem.
The approach to runway
10 however, remains a
problem, he said and will
have to be dealt with in
the near future in order to
maintain the usable
length of the runway,
according to inspector
Bill Hughes.
Scruton reported that
arrangements had been
made for a grader for the
coming winter's snow
removal at the airport.
He said runway
lighting parts were
starting to arrive from
Maxim Lighting and it
was hoped they would all
be working before frost.
Cedars were being cut for
the ,marking of runway
lights too, he said.
A used carpet has been
donated to the lounge and
after cleaning, has made
some improvement to the
appearance of the room,
he told the committee.
The committee adopted
the co-ordinator's report
as printed.
Dick Wright, com-
mittee member,
presented a written
report with regards to the
Air Show to be held at
Goderich Airport " on
ars with lawyer
Saturaay, June 28, 1980.
Considerable discussion
followed about civilian
performers, military
performers, entrance
fees, traffic control,
security, bus service,
gate collection, program,
static displays, con-
cessions, public address
system, emcee, refuse
containers, restroom
facilities, insurance,.
flight and crowd safety,
fuel, radios, parking,
advertising and clean-up
after the show.
Wright also presented a
report with regards to the
Association of Airport
Managers meeting held
Bultonville on Sep-
tember 27.
The meeting was then
adjourned until
November 21 at 7:30 p.rn.
