Gordon Noble, son of
Mr. and Mrs. M.F. Noble
of Wasaga and formerly
of Goderich, has been
appointed Director of
Corporate Affairs for the
Canadian Broa-'casting
Corporation.
In this
polition, Mr.
Noble is responsible for
day to day liaison bet-
ween the BC and the
CRTC as well as the
presentation of CBC
applications to the
Commission at its public
hearings.
Mr. Noble is a graduate
of Goderfch District
Collegiate Institute and
the University of Toronto.
He has spent a good part
of his career con-
centrating on film policy
issues including service
in the National Film
Board, the Canadian
Film Institute and, lat-
terly, in the Department
of the Secretary of State.
The deadline for our
What's Cooking At Your
Place contest has been
extended to October 31.
We need recipes from
service clubs. (category -
party foods and
beverages) and church
groups (category -main
course). Individuals may
also continue sending
their favorite holiday
season recipes and
children may send along
dessert recipes.
All entries, to be
submitted to the contest
in care of the Signal -Star,
Box 220, Industrial Park,
Goderich, are eligible for
$50 prizes and will be
printed in our. holiday
cook book in November.

Christmas Country Fair
is over. If you enjoyed it,

Day is held at Central
Huron Secondary School
'in Clinton.
College Day begins at 5
p.m. and runs until 10
p.m. with presentations

colleges beginning at 7
p.m. Participating

Conestoga, Fanshawe,
Mohawk, George Brown,
Humber, Georgian, Sir
Sanford Fleming,.
Sheridan, Lambton,
Niagara, St. Clair,
Centralia Agricultural
College, Ridgetown
Agricultural College and

These five to seven-year-old boys were invested
into the Fourth Goderich Beaver Colony in a -special
ceremony held in North Street United Church hall
last Thursday evening. Front row, left to right, are

Huronview tea' success
It being a beautiful day,
a good number attended
the fall tea at Huronview
on October 16.
Guests were welcomed
at the door by Mrs. C.
Lockhart and Mrs. Mae
Gibson ' and Mrs. J.
Griffiths and Mrs. I.
Duntwere in charge of
the register and the tea
tickets.
Huronview ad-
ministrator Chester
Archibakd welcomed
everyone to the tea.
The Goderich Township
WI was in charge of the
well laden bake table and
the Clinton ladies waited
on the tea tables. The
Blyth ladies looked after
the kitchen. Those
pouring tea were Mrs.
Archibald and Mrs. Mary
Clairmont.
Those present enjoyed
seeing and. ,purchasing
articles from the good
display of crafts and
_baking, made at the craft
room at Huronview. The
Day Care Centre also had
a few articles for sale.
The• Huronview
Auxiliary thanks all those
who helped with
donations and to the bake
table who made the fall
lea a success.
