To minimize heating costs, current recommendations
in many parts of the country call for R-28 in the'attic
area and up to R-20 in the walls. Insulation in the attic
poses no particular problem; you can always add to
your existing insulation. However there is simply not
enough room inside a standard 2x4 stud wall to install
R-20 insulation. GLASCLAD solves the problem.
GLASCLAD is a rigid insulating exterior sheathing
board' that is applied in the same manner as con-
ventional exterior sheathing boards. But GLASCLAD, in
conjunction with 3'//" fiberglass insulation batts WILL
PROVIDE the necessary increased "R value" you need.
It's applied vertically to the face of the studs. It's
easy to install; you can cut it with a simple utility
knife:
4 -ft. x 8 -ft.
