Insulation in the attic poses no particular problem; you can always add to your existing insulation. However there is simply not enough room inside a standard 2x4 stud wall to install R-20 insulation. GLASCLAD solves the problem. Another service of Canadian Home Insulation Program the Government of Canada In Ontario, if you own a house built prior to January lst, 1961, you are eligible for a C.H.I.P. grant. The value of the grant is for the full cost of insulating materials to a maximum of $350.00 and for 1 /3 of the cost of labour to a maximum of $150.00. So the total available grant per household is now $500.00 when the job is done. This grant applies to insulating materials for attics, walls, basement walls, and floors over unheated spaces (including vapour barriers). All these materials must have a CMHC acceptance number. This grant applies to materials for weatherstripping, caulking, protective shells around recessed light fixtures and attics and improving ventilation where insulation has been added.
