The GDCI club set a record for consecutive wins breaking a record held by GDCI when it last year won its third title. Marg and Barb Conlon competed at the Win- demere tennis club in London last week against the top high school tennis players in Western Ontario. After receiving a bye in the first round, they defeated a team 'from Oxford Elgin 6-0, 6- 0. In the semi-final against a Strong team from Sarnia they lost the first set but rallied to win the next two sets 3-6, 6-4, 6-3. In the final against the number one team from London, the girls lost the First set and were down two match points in the second set before staging a tremendous comeback to win the second' and third sets. The girls received handsome trophies for this difficult accomplishment. Today, they travel to Hamilton for,the All -Ontario chmpionships at McMaster University. In other WOSSA competition, Tracy MacEwan and Willie Denomme lost their first round match to the London team 6-7, 6-1, 6-2. After receiving a bye in the first round, Jim Costello and John Brown defeated teams from St. Thomas and Sarnia to get to the final against another Sarnia team. After winning -the first set 7-5, they lost the next two sets 6-4, -7-5 in a very close, exciting match.
