s Sunset ladies hold closing golf banquet
Here we are at the
Sunset, looking forward
to another beautiful fall.
The weatherman is
certainly co-operating so
far with the warm fall
days. Yes, we are open
7,
officially till the end of
October and if the
weather stays like it has
been we could be opened
till November (like last
year). So come out and
play golf, enjoy the
weather and practise up
on some of those bad
shots you made during
the summer.
The ladies held their
closing dinner on
Thursday past with the
1980 Executive being
nominated. They are as
follows: Past President,
Mary Lynn , Telford;
President, Pat
Dockstader; Vice -
President, Sue Gower;
and Secretary -Treasurer,
.. Karen Sturdy. The club
captain will be Ellen
Connelly, Handicap

Telford; Food Chairman
Evy McDonagh; Social
Chairman, Edna Powell
and Teams and Tour-
nament, Shirley
Baechler. Good luck girls
as we are looking forward
to an exciting and suc-
cessful year.

, ATrITDOLL,
to first place in last
weekend's "TOM'
TURKEY" regatta. Ken
had just returned from a
first place victory in a
M.O.R.C. race in
Bayfield the day before
and wasn't about to let
down for a local race. He
even carried some extra
crew, Bill Wark and his
son Craig, and a
newcomer to the
Goderich Sailing Club,
Phil 'Dobson from Lon-
don, along with Steve
Youngblut, his usual fore-
deck man.
The day started out
calm and very hazy, with
the wind clocking around
from south, to west and
finally increasing to 20
knots out of the north.
None of the boats flew
chutes until the fourth
leg, and by that tirne Ken
Dawson was way out in
front.
Murray McGill in the
OBSESSION made a
strong bid to take, over
third place as the wind
picked up, but was unable
to overtake Ralph Smith
in his smooth. sailing
Tanzer, EL VIENTO.
