Walkerton defeated the
Goderich International
Bantams 12-10 Tuesday to
win the WOAA bantam
title in the'•' third and
deciding game of the
series in Goderich.
Walkerton won the first
game of the series here
Saturday but the
Goderich bantams forced
the third game with a 7-3
win in Walkerton Sunday
behind the fine pitching
effort of Kevin Adams.
Walkerton clinched the
title with the two -run
victory Tuesday but the
Internationals deserve
credit as a scrappy,
battling team. They
trailed 10-3 after three
innings of play and
Walkerton increased that
lead to 11-3 after four
innings of play.
But the Internationals
bravely fought back and
chipped away at the
Walkerton bulge before
finally surrendering the
12-10 decision.
Adams started the
game for Goderich but
gave way to Denis Kerr in
relief. Kerr pitched the
final 'six innings and held
Walkerton to a single run
