A Mass of Thanksgiving at
Ressurection College was

Betty Van Osch spent a
few days at Cornwallis, Nova

graduation of her son, David,
from Recruit School on Sept-
ember 20. Private David Van
Osch is now taking a ten
week driving course at Camp
Borden. He was home for the
weekend with his family.
Pete and Betty spent two
days With her sister, Mr. and
Mrs. Alvin Benninger of
Chatham and a day at the
Ploughing Match.
Gerry Heffernan of Strat-
ford and Blanche Bilodeau of
Waterloo visited with Yvette
Heffernan and Antone and
Delores Van Osch and family
on the weekend.
Patrick Dougherty of At

guest ,with Joe and Teresa
Courtney and family. His
visit was spent researching
the Courtney family- history.
Dinner guests were Con and

Visiting with Bernadine
Kinney was a cousin, Miss
Olive O'Reilly of Sun City,
Arizona and Mr. Calvin
O'Reilly from Windsor. Mr.
and Mrs. John Kinney and
daughter, Susan, of Redford
Township, Michigan, spent

Mary Luanne Clare and
her parents' attended the
Wingham Lions Club meet-
ing, Tuesday evening. After
the dinner, Mary Luanne
spoke on her trip to Noranda -
Rouyn, Quebec, where she
spoke.in the Canadian final-
ists contest this past spring.
Judy Coates of Strathroy,
who is a Social Worker with
the C.N.I.B., will be guest
speaker and will tell about
her work with the blind at the
St. Helens W.I. meeting
October 4.
Welcome to Eddie and
Maureen Chilton and child-

Congratulations again are
due the Agriculture Society
members and their float
which placed 1st at the
Ripley Fall Fair parade on
Saturday.
Many from our area at-
tended the ploughing match
held at Chatham this year.
Many stayed for the weekend
with friends or relatives and
others had motor homes.
Reverend and Mrs. Mc-
Clenaghan of Paisley visited
with Mr. and Mrs, Robert
Irvin on Sunday.
The Setpember meeting of
the Dungannon Agricultural
Society drew a small attend-
ance. President Bob Wright
chaired the meeting onsSept-
ember 25th at the hall.
Secretary Dorothy B
read the minutes, which
were adopted as read. The
treasurer's report was given
by Lynda McNee. Several
items of business were dis-
cussed such as building a
food booth which can be
transported to different ev-
ents, such as tractor pulls
etc. Joanne Whitney was
asked to compare the differ-
ent prices on money boxes
for , future " purchase. The
addition of a show case at the
hall for trophies, plaques etc.
was discussed.
It` was decided by those
present to host the 1980 Fall
district 8 agriculture meet-
ing. It is hoped more people
will get out and attend these
meetings and show an inter-
est in their community.
Mrs. Joy Vella of Seaforth

Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Kerr
returned home on Wednes-
day, following a four week
visit at Arcola, Saskatchew-
an, with his sister, Violet and
husband, Mr. and Mrs. Sam
Anderson.
Leola Chisholm was home
for the weekend with her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leon-
ard Chisohlm. Leola is enrol-
led in the two year registered
nursing course at Stratford
Conestoga College.
Thos. Webster returned
home on Thursday. ..from
Wingham Hospital where he
had been hospitalized follow-
ing a tumble from a ladder a
week ago. He is still feeling
quite stiff and sore.

son, James of Kinlough,
visited with Mr. and Mrs.
Benson Shackleton and son
Gerald, of Dungannon on
Sunday evening for dinner.

over visited with her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Benson Shack-

weekend.
Sherwoods Transportation
took a bus load of Dungan-
non area residents to the
Plowing Match on Friday.

Helen Elliott sang a solo,
"May the Good Lord Bless
and Keep You". A warm
welcome was extended to Dr.
Hazelwood and to Mrs. Haz-
elwood, who also attended
the service.
Nile Hi -C met on Sunday
evening at the church for an
organization 'and planning
meeting. •
The U.C.W. Fall Rally is
being held on Tuesday, Oct -
,ober 2 at the Benmiller
United Church, for all
U.C.W. members of the
West Huron Region.

the Arts on the evening of
October 3rd.

Holmesville I Stitchy
Stitcher-oos took place on
Thursday, September 27
at the Holmesville school.
The meeting was
opened with the 4-H
pledge. Then the
secretarial report was
read and since there were
no objections the minutes
were passed and the
meeting opened.
