Increases in the Old Age Security pension, Guaranteed Income Supplement and Spouse's Allowance, effective in October 1979, were an- nounced recently by the Honourable Heward ' Grafftey, Minister of State for Social Programs on behalf of •the Honourable David Crombie, Minister of National Health and Welfare. The -basic Old Age Security pension will rise to $179.02 from the present $174.82. The maximum Guaranteed Income Supplement for a single person, or a married person whose spouse is ,not a pensioner and is not receiving a Spouse's Allowance, will increase to $146.97 from its current $143.53. Added to the basic pension, this gives a person receiving both the OAS and the maximum GIS a monthly total of $325.99. Th e' maximum Guaranteed Income Supplement for a married couple, both pensioners, will increase to $122.20 each from $119.34. Added to the basic pension this will give each married pensioner receiving the maximum GIS a total of $310.22, or $602.44 for the couple. The Guaranteed Income Supplement is paid to pensioners whose income, apart from the Old Age Security pension, is limited. The amount of the supplement variesin relation to income. Themaximum Spouse's Allowance will increase to $301.22 from $294.16. The maximum Spouse's Allowance is made up of an amount equivalent to the basic Old Age Security pension and the maximum GIS at the married rate and is paid to persons between 60 and 65 years of age who are married to OAS pensioners and meet residence requirements. JOHN BARTLEY WARREN Meneset home Victoria Street United Church was decorated with candelabras with orange and -yellow daisies, yellow and brown Poppies, yellow- gladioli, deep rose streamers and white pew markers for the wedding ceremony of Sherry Esther Fielder of R.R. 6 Goderich and John Bartley Warren of R.R. 5 Goderich on August 18 at 4:30 p.m. The Reverend Ralph E. King officiated at the double ring ceremony. Music was provided by the church organist. The bride is the daughter of George and Beverley Fielder of Goderich and the groom is the son of John and Margaret Warren of Kirkland Lake. The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a floor length gown with a pleated skirt falling from an empire waist. It featured a rounded neckline etched with Spanish. lace. The .bridal veil was of lace decorated with petite daisies as trim and was held in place by a crown of Spanish lace. The bride carried a cascading bouquet of talisman roses and deep rose carnations accented with baby's breath. Maid of' honor 'Was Elaine Haggitt of R.R. 6 Goderich, friendof the bride. She wore a long gown of peach polyester with gathered bodice, spaghetti straps, an inlay of sheer rayon with a floral pattern and a cape of matching material. She also w.ore a white rose in her hair.' - She carried a nosegay of orange, tangerine• and yellow daisies with miniature white roses, and deep rose streamers. Bridesmaids were Kathy, Laurie and Juanita Fielder all of R.R. 6 Goderich, sisters of the bride. They were gowned identicallyto the maid of honor and carried the same nosegays. • 4 All of the bridal attendants wore gold chains and bracelets, gifts of the bride. Flower girl was Zelda Mae Brown of London, cousin of the bride. She was gowned the same as the other bridal attendants. ' Groomsman was Mike Mallough of R.R. 5 Goderich, friend of the groom. Guests were ushered into the church by Dale Fielder of R.R. 6 Goderich, brother of the bride and Mike Russelo and Fraser Aylsworth, both of Goderich, friends of the groom', Following the wedding, a reception was held at the Goderich Legion Hall. The bride's mother greeted guests wearing a floor length polyester gown with pink and mauve flowers and a mauve orchid corsage. The groom's mother chose a floor length lime green gown with lace cape and a corsage of miniature pink roses. For a wedding trip to Niagara Falls, Toronto and Kirkland Lake, the bride changbd to a rosewood pant Bruit. Mr. and Mrs. Warren are residing at Meneset Trailer Park, R.R. 5 Goderit;h.
