Bae said today's /grants ar part of the, Wintari Grants program for th support of cultural an rec ational facilitie andtivities. To date in 1979, th ministry has,' allotte $21.3 million to more tha 2,980 groups and project across the province. The Village of Bayfield is using a, grant of $203,947 to share in the cost .of repairs, im- provements and ex- pansions for the Bayfield Community Arena and Hall. A grant of $47,959 is. being used by. the Seaforth Lions Club to assist with .the cost of renovations and im- provements to the Seaforth Lions Pool and r„,- park. The Seaforth Royal Canadian Legion is using a grant of $6,253 towards the cost of renovations to the Legion Hall including new stairs, siding and a door. A grant of $5,000 has belen approved for Auburn's 125th Birthday Committee to assist with the' cost of the celebrations. The Township • of Howick is using a grant of $2,216 towards the cost of purchasing, and installing playing field dugouts, lighting, backstops and fencing. A grant of $585 has been approved for the. Ashfield Recreation Committee to assist with the purchase of baseball equipment, The Huron Perth Baseball League has received approval for a grant of $543 to help purchase baseball equipment„ A grant of $330 has been approved for the Sea forth Minor . Baseball Association to share in the purchase of baseball and softball equipment.. A grant of $305 has been approved for the Seaforth • and District Preschool Learning Centre to share in the purchase of program equipment.. The Vanastra Recreation Centre has received approval for a grant of $300 to assist with the purchase of softball equipment. A grant of $300 has been approved for the Township of Tuckersmith to assist with the pur- chase of baseball equipment room. The Walton Area Sports Club has received ap- proval for a grant or $1,419 to help buy ball equipment. A grant of $1,335 is being used to share in the cost of constructing a creative playground at Huron Centennial School. Clinton ampos 482 3458 4 Huronview news Band preparesfor show On Friday morning our blind residents held a meeting in the craft room, while Roman Catholic Mass was also said on Friday morning alsb in the Chapel. Bingo was played in the auditorium on Friday afternoon. Rev. Wittick spoke on God's Promise on Sunday morning, when pam- phlets were passed out to each resident and Sunday evening, Dick ,Roorda held a service. As Molly Cox was away, there wasn't any old time music but practice was held in the afternoon for the program that Huronview residents put on in Dash- wood for the Dashwood senior citizens. The program was started out with the Huronview Choir singing two hymns, followed by Mrs. Elsie Henderson playing her bells. Nelson Lear told the audience what a stern old bachelor felt and John McQueen sang the solo selections, and Margaret `McQueen sand the - solo Beyond the Sunset. Cecil Skinner played his violin accompanied by Elsie Henderson at the piano and Josephine Cun- ningham sang a solo. Nelson Lear and Elsie Henderson then sang a duet and Morgan Dalton' sang two songs. Elsie Henderson brought her dancing doll which she made dance to several tunes and Frank Bissett and Elsie Hen- derson played a piano duet. The Choir closed the program with a .hymn. A lovely lunch was served to our Huronview residents by the Dash- wood Senior Citizens and a• gift of candy was presented to each. Wednesday afternoon, the Zurich Women's Institute helped all residents whose bir- thdays were in Sep- tember celebrate. Joe Boland played some sweet music on his violin accompanied by Alfred Denomme at the piano. A sing -song was held with the residents getting the opportunity to guess the tune before it was sung. A skit was staged with Ruby Neeb remembering her life from little girl to mother. The little girls were Natalie Brokenshire and Jennifer Deichert.
