Plans moving ahead
for new township hall
By Audrey Middleton
Despite the silence
from the department of
the ministry of culture
and recreation re a grant
application, plans are
moving ahead on good
faith for the proposed
new township hall for
Goderich Township.
Councilmen and
recreation board
members were called to a
special meeting • on
Wednesday, September
12 at Holmesville to
evaluate the architect's
plans for its locations,
size, shape and layout.
In order that the public
may also view and
evaluate the proposed
plans, the architect Brian
Garrett agreed to reduce
the several picture -
presentations to a
manageable size for the
newspeople. He will send
them to the recreation
chairman who will for-
ward them to the local
papers just as soon as
possible.
The proposed hall plans
are pending to sit im-
mediately to the north
end of -the Holmesville
school and will contain a

rooms, a library . , a

It was announced that
two township council
representatives, the
recreation chairman, and
the architect were invited
to attend a management
committee meeting of the
Huron Co. school board
on Monday, September
17. This meeting will
arrive at mutual
agreements on the terms
between school board and
township re • the land
designated for • the
township hall and its use
thereof.
Assistant rec. chair-
man, Doug Yeo asked the
council if they had
checked out similar
school board - township
agreements with any
existing situations.
Reeve, Grant Stirling
answered that he had not
done so yet but intended
to before the meeting on
Monday.
Rec. chairman Gerry
Ginn said that the long
wait for the new ball park
lights has been due to a
hold up in installation of
the underground elec-
trical cable to which Halo
Electric Co. is com-
mitted. Deputy reeve,
Garnet Wright strongly
suggested that action
must be taken now to
complete the project
while we're in dry
weather and that another
electrician be hired to do
the installation if Halo is
.too busy.
Doug Yeo submitted to
council his draft of the
proposed new by laws for
recreation. Grant Stirling
agreed to have duplicate
copies made for council
meeting Monday, Sep-
tember 17 for .a study
done then.
The recreation com-
mittee will conduct its
regular meeting Wed-
nesday, September 19.

I received word of
another balloon finding
this week.
Nine-year-old Donna
Raynard who lives near
Lucknow was
vacationing with her
cousins, Kevin and
Janice Webster who live
near Auburn, when she
found a balloon which
was still pretty well in-
flated on August 27.
Printedon the balloon
was a boy's name and..two
telephone numbers.
The balloon was from
O'Fallon, Illinois (just
outside St. Louis,
Missouri) and had been
released on August 24
during a Summer Har-
vest Days parade there.

Although there is no
cure for rheumatoid
arthritis in the sense that
it , disappears with
treatment, treatment is
- predictably effective in
most cases. Success will
depend on the enthusiasm
and thoroughness with
which patient and family
approach it.
There is • genuine, op-
timism and confidence
concerning the search for
a cure for rheumatoid
arthritis. Great progress
has been made and
continues to be made.

There is no pill, in-
