Mike Chisholm was the big hitter for Goderich three hits at four times at bat. David Gallow and DelBedard each had two, and Adams and Jeff scored by Adams, Pitre, Gailow and Bedard. Listowel also scored two unearned runs. Chris Pitre pitched a very strong game for the Internationals with nine strike -outs and gave up five walks. Jays lose - 5 4 game The Goderich Bluo Jays iost a 5-4 decision to Exeter in WOAA midget baseball action in Exeter Sunday. It was their last game of the regular schedule. The loss leaves the Jays with a season's record of 10 wins, four losses and one tie. They finished second in their group standings, behind Lixtowol, the pennant winners. The Jays, playing without several regulars, outhit Exeter seven to five.Del Mitchelmore had two of the Jays' hits. Larry MadQe, Dave 0Ioore, Jim Fritzley, Daryl up from the Legion pee ween and Don Elliott had one hit each. Elliott's was a solo home run shot over the right field fence in the first inning Larry Madge was the losing pitcher, going the distance on themound for the Jays. Fuller was the starting and winning pitcher for Exeter. N � N ^�� � .0�^ French D opened their best of three Maitland Division playoff with a 15 hit 13 run attact hammering Ziebart in Industrial league action Monday night. , French used two big innings to swamp Ziebart scoring three times in the first, eight times in the fifth and twice in the sixth. Sending seven men to the plate in the first French used a triple by Bill GuUow, a double by Phil Turnerand a home run by Jim McCarthyto score all they needed for the win. Ziebart managed to hold French off the board for four innings to get back in the game. With two out and one on Simon Langlois hit a round tripper to draw Ziebart to within one after three innings. The French fifth spelled d�om for Ziebart. All but one batter in the French order scored a run in the inning to boost the Cleaners to an 11'2 lead. Rno"BJugeo singled to start things off and pit- cher Arnie Parker mishandled Bill Gallow's bunt to leave two on and none out. George Sutton and Phil Turner singled to score two and McCarthy addeda double -for two more. Don McWhinney and Ray Kioges. singled for two more runs and another scored on a second Ziebart error. Bill {}aUow, up for the second time in the inning, m doubled to score the eighth Cleaner run. French added two more in the sixth to round the score �ut at 13'2. McWhinney came up with a five hit effort striking out two for the win while loser Arnie Parker gave up 15 hits while striking out seven.
