council must approve the"
reconstruction and
widening of the present
roadway.
Mrs. Mazzolini's ski
lodge and guest house,
called Cherrydale Farm,
is located south and east
of Benmiller on a public
road leading to the
Maitland Concession.
Winter maintainance of
the ' road is impossible
because ,the road is only
33 feet wide in some
spots. Ministry of
Transportation and
Communication
engineers Ross Jackson
and Norman Durst have
advised council to widen
and reconstruct the
present roadway. y -
An alternative roadway
leading to the County
Road 31 (Maitland
Concesson) was con-
sidered by council but
rendered impractical by
the engineers. It would
involve purchasing ad -
granted -by council to hold ditional land, installing a
the fourteenth annual giant culvert, and using
Christmas Country Fair considerable fill to
at the Saltford Valley construct a new rpad.
Hall on Wednesday, Council is to meet
October 17, and Saturday, Thursday, August 21' to
October 20; 1979. discuss the road.
