Most of the proceeds from the car wash were used for a trip to Boblo Island, last Round 'n' About I'm all unwound aga The past week has b one ofmany emoti and stresses. My thr feels tight and swoll I'm ready to cry if y look cross-eyed at me and I'm sick of being bright • and cheerful, pretending I haven't a care in the world. I haven't recovered from the loss of one beautiful person before I hear I am about to lose another. I'm scared too! And I know a good many others feel just as I do and they too are making' their doctors' lives miserable, losing confidence in the labs and • X-ray people and are like me - all unwound! Years ago I , seldom knew why or how a person died - they were usually much older than I and I was not touched by it. Now it is different and it all seems so hopeless, unfair•and wasteful, that I'm all shook up. Luckily we have a young generation coming along that hopefully will not be touched by sadness and these promised or hoped-for 'cures will appear -in -their t l in Q. Mainly, I know money • "is needed for research ..: and if takes a lot of it to carry it on. It just 'makes me sick, when I see hundreds of ;dollars worth s of -flowers lying on the ground at a funeral. Think" of the good the money could work for us and the future in, generations if it were put een into heart and cancer ons funds and many _other oat funds.and channels where en, it is needed, ou Have YOU • signed the back. of your driver's licence yet or don't you believe you can 'save ,a life or help someone see again? 'Ns, things have' been getting to me - but •I'm sure I'll feel better quickly if I have made you sit back and think on these things. Last Saturday the local Lawn Bowling Club had a good turnout for its tournament. It was a nice hot sun -cool windy day and the greens were good and the competition's great. My partner and I had three 'great games and are not ashamed that we lost all three. Th-at's life - you win some, you lose some - and that is GOOD.
