We can't all win and the squirt boys' team, coached by Glen Ribey, Ron Harris and ,Ken Duncan, was eliminated from the playoffs about a week ago. Benmiller A team played Holmesville in the first game of the playoffs and won 20 do 7. Special mention was made after the game that Jeff Thom 'pitched a very good game. • Benmitler A team played Holmesville Monday evening, August 13 at Holmesvi Ile and won with a score of 9 to 8. This was a really good game and the Benmiller A team -will now be playing the Varna team for the championship. Buchanan had a busy week with holiday guests. Mrs. 'Buchanan was thrilled with a surprise visit from her sister, Mrs. (and Mr.) Ovide Labrie and daughters, Linda and Miss Annette MacCrostie of Pem- berton, B.C. and Terr.y McKellar of Victoria, B.C. spent the past month visiting Annette's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hugh MacCrostie, and olborne corner .1 , • 11I'll(I, Dominique of Sher- brooke, Quebec. Mr. and Mrs. Buchanan's daughter,' Mrs. Ron Walsh, her husband and, children Tracy, Melanie and Jason of North Bay visited with them for several days and another daughter, Mrs. Philip Marzo and her, husband of Hamilton were visitors over the weekend. A pleasant change from entertaining guests came on Saturday when Mr. and Mrs. Buchanan and Mr,,;and Mrs. Ron Walsh attended the Highland Games at Fergus: '1.!' brother and family, Mr. and Mrs. Dale MacCrostie and children Pam and Jeff of Walkerton. Mr. and Mrs. Terence Hunter attended the Love family picnic recently which was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John -Thompson ' of the Seaforth district. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Meyers and son John of Sarnia, former residents of Colborne, visited with friends in Goderich last week. Congratulations are extended to Mr. and Mrs. Bryon Black of Colborne on the birth of a son, Timothy Brent, in Goderich hospital, August 4. Congratulations are extended to Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Eggleston, on the birth of a daughter, in Goderich hospital, August 5. The sympathy of the community is extended to Mr. and Mrs. James Fielder of R.R. 5 Goderich on the loss of their infant son, Darren Michael.
