Due to the holiday
Monday, the !nen will be
playing on Thursday, so,
no news to report from
that quarter.
The turn -out on the
previous Tuesday for
ladies' night was rather
small, due in part to the
inclement weather
(which cleared up in the
evening)°and in part to
the fact that there were a

Slow pitch challenge raises money for roast
The special slo-pitch
challenge, played on
Sunday afternoon at the
Holmesville ball diamond
was won by Art Bell's
Gun Club, 14-7.
Game officials, Gord
Stock and Doug Norman
made a rule that a fine of
25 cents would be charged
to even talk to them, so
that kept the game under
control.
In .the sixth inning, the
ladies 'present had their
turn at bat and when the
dust had settled it was
learned that the ladies
had hit five runs for the
men.
The real winners of the
event, however, were the
youngsters who now have
enough money to hold a
weiner roast at the end of
the season.
A demonstration was
held at the end Of the fifth
inning in throwing clay
pigeons by hand.
