Dave Bedour of Goderich tries depserately to coax in a putt on the 15th hole

Blue Jays win one, lose two
The Goderich Blue
Jays had a busy weekend,
playing one league game
and -three games in the
Fourth . Annual Listowel
A's Midget Baseball
Tournament.
The Jays won their
WOAA league game here
Sunday over Exeter, 10-5.
In tournament games in
Listowel, the Blue Jays
lost their first round
game Friday night by a
close 7-6 score to the host
Listowel team. Listowel
went on to win the
tournament cham-
pionship with victories by
scores of 5-1 over Owen
Sound, 2-0 over Brantford
and 1'4-7 over Forest. The
Blue Jays stayed alive in
the 'B' division at the
tournament with a 7-6 win
over Paris Saturday, but
were eliminated in the.
semi-finals by Essex 11-9
on Monday. The tour-
nament featured some
excellent baseball and
drew large crowds to the
Listowel Ball Park.

up big for the Jays, giving
up four hits, walking eight
and striking out two in the

was effective in relief,
giving up only one hit,
walking three and
striking out three in three
and two-thirds innings.
