Gords hammer Little Bowl 7-2. Gords Sports remained in second place in the • Dunlop division of the Industrial League with a 7-2 win over Little Bowl, Sunday.. Gords unleashed a 12 - hit attack on losing pit- cher, John Crawford to score two runs in both the first and third innings and three in the fifth en rout to the win. Lee Arbour led the assuralt with four hits in as many trips' to the plate. He doubled in the first inning and scored a run and singled in the third, fourth and fifth innings. Scholl singled to drive in a run in the first inning and he tripled and scored in the fifth inning. Keith Allen was the top Little Bowl batter with two of the team's three hits. He singled in the second inning and scored a run. David Patterson scored the other Little Bowl run. The win was the 11th of the season for Gords against eight losses and 22 points. Keller knocked in. the first Goderich run in the first inning with a•two-out triple that scored Robbie Goderich got three runs in the fifth as Randy Gaynor doubled, Daryl Madge walked and Keller followed up with a homer. The. other Goderich run came in the second inning when Matt Buchanan walked and scored on David Almasi's single. Milverton rallied for three runs in their fhalf of the seventh to tie the game and then won it with a run in the tenth as a result of an error. Elliott, who took the ,loss in relief of Bev Wright, led Goderich offensively with .three hits. She singled in the fourth inning and scored a run and added singles in the fifth and ninth in- nings. Cruickshank chipped in with two hits and drove in a run and Bev Wright had the other two Goderich hits and also drove in a run. Milverton scored their two runs on seven hits off two Goderich pitchers. On Thursday the Little Plumbers Will. play in. Moorefield. and, Friday they will host Kitchener in an 8.30 p.m.. contest at Agriculture Park. Their final home game of the season is August 10 against Waterford. The win was the 12th of the season for McGees and leaves them four points ahead of Gords. The Pontiacs scored single runs in the third and fourth innings and held a two -run lead until Fisher scored their lone run of the game in the sixth inning.
