Monday's winners were Jack Hoffineyer,- Ken Hall, Bob Sproule, Tony Bedard Sr., Hugh Hanly and Paul Paquette. There was a draw but no .one seems to know who won -- so congratulations vtloever you are! This correspondent was not around last ladies Tuesday night, so I can't give the results for that. However, five ladies travelled to Saugeen for their invitational which attracted 120 golfers. Jean Hanly brought home third low net prize in the third flight while Maxine Martin won the putting prize in the first flight as well as_a birdie ball. Jean and Max (the last of the big spenders) stayed in the area until Thursday when they attended the. Owen Sound Tour- nament. Maxine was a winner again, taking third low gross in the first flight. Sunday at 4:30 the couples gathered for the second two -ball foursome of the season. There was a goodly crowd milling around ' the clubhouse and the final results, were Verna Jackson and Bob McDougall with first prize and a•three-way tie for •second prize. con- sisting of Janet Geminill and Jack Hinton, Verna Kane and Stan Paquette, and finally ,Pete Collier and Edna Looker. Lillian Kelly and Fred Looker won the prize for the Hidden Hole. Next Mixed Two -Ball will be held two weeks hence on Sunday, July 29th. Come one, come all! The two boats were without p doubt the best two in the regatta, and led the pack at every mark. ARL finished first in the first and third races, while SATIN DOLL took the honors in the second and last races. To break the tie, a short two -leg race was held last Sunday • afternoon, that had all the remaining sailors and spectators enthralled! SATIN DOLL was a few seconds behind at the starting gun, but over- took ARL as they neared the weather mark. When ARL came about onto a port tack to make ' the mark, Ken Dawson called a Starboard right-of-way and Mike Gozzard had to give way. It looked like Dawson had them right there, but he failed to tack at the right moment, and Gozzard pinched underneath him to sneak around the mark .,first. By the time his fore -deck man, Steve Youngblut, got it untangled, ,ARL was ahead by three boat' lengths, and finished the race without giving an inch!' Congratulations:, Liz and Mike! Paul Parsons and his race committee did a •tremendous job of r..,,rciub and running the Regatta, and, as always, Dick and Donelda Robarts were the gracious hosts at the wind-up barbecue Sunday evening. Many thanks! The final standings, after the four regular races in the regatta are as follows: Next weekend is another full one for local sailors, with a MORC Fleet race from Goderich to Bayfield on Saturday, and two club races on Sunday. Following Sunday, the afternoon race, the Port' of Goderich is putting on a barbecue lunch for all Snug Harbour boaters and visiting sailors.
