Classic fun run and road race Saturday and was honored by Goderich reeve Eileen Palmer. Janet ran the 10 km. course (6.3 miles) in 34 minutes and 44 seconds, over seven minutes ahead second place finisher Linda Finley. A cup honoring the win was presented to Janet. The - Electrics unleashed a nine -hit attack in scaring seven runs in four innings to record their sixth win of the year. They remain in fourth place in the Dunlop Division, three points ouf of third place. Graham quickly assumed control of the game scoring three runs in the first inning on four hits. With two out, Mark Frayne singled and scored on a follow up double by Bob Hnatyk. Mark Frayne and Bill Wraith added singles to complete the first inning scoring. .The Electrics in- creased their lead to six runs with another three - run outburst in the second inning. George Klumper led off the inning with a double and scored ona single by Steve I-Laggitt. Haggitt scored as Bruce Bowman reached base on an error and Bowman scored on a single by Hnatyk. Mark Frayne scored the final Electric run with a solo homer in the fourth inning. Little Bowl scored their only run in the third in- ning as John Crawford singled and scored error Fastball action. Last Wednesday Fisher dumped French 6-1 but then lost a 6-4 decision to Lakeport, Sunday. The split leaves Fisher with a record of eight 'wins and eight . losses, good for third spot in the Dunllop Division. Fisher capitalized on six' French errors scoring six runs on just five hits in their 6-1 win last Wednesday. French led the game 1-0 after three innings of play but Fisher sprung for three runs in the fourth and sixth innings to wrap up the win. Bill Kraft, Jack MacKinnon ..and -_Doug. Fisher scored fourth inning runs for Fisher and macKinnon, Fisher and John Hoy each. scored in the sixth. Doug Fisher had two of his team's five hits in the game, a second• inning double and a run - producing single in the fourth. Frank MacDonald,Fred Pellow and Kraft had the other Fisher hits. - Pellow went the distance for Fisher allowing one run on four. hits while striking out three batters. Glenn Pontiacs dump Ziebart to regain The McGee Pontiacs continue to lead the Dunlop division of the Industrial Fastball league after recording a 5-1 win over Ziebart; Sunday. . , The win was the ninth of the season for the Pontiacs and boosted them into sole possesion of first place following Gords loss' to Canada Company. McGees got to Simon Langlois right from the start as they nailed him for three runs on' three hits in the first inning. Bantams division lead Langlois walked Clare Harmon in the first and subsequent singles by Rick Sowerby, `Doug Spitzig and Ken Meriam drove in three runs. - The Pontiacs added two runs in the top of the sixth inning as Ron Sowerby singled and Langrois loaded the bases with walks to Harry Kerr and Mike Pitre. Harmon Then delivered a two -out single to score Sowerby and Kerr. Keil Daer held Ziebart' to five hits in the game and they scored tneir only run in the fourth inning. Greg Hansen singled, advanced on an error and scored on Rick Duck worth's single. Seven players shared in the Pontiac's seven -hit attack and Ziebart's Hansen was the only inning and added a run player with hits in the game. Daer gave up the one run on five hits and struck out two batters in picking ,up the win. Langlois struck out three in a losing cause. Ferguson. had two of the French hits as he doubled in the second inning and scored and singled in the seventh, Lakeport turned the tables on Fisher Sunday, jumping on two Fisher. errors ,in the sixth inning to score two runs and break a 4-4 tie. Fisher had just tied the game with a single run in the top of the sixth and then let it slip away with two costly errors in the ,bottom half of the sixth. Lakeport scored two runs in the first inning and added singles in the third and fourth innings before putting the game away with two runs in the last half of the sixth in- ning.
