wrong anyway but the

great display of working

scenery - everything very
realistic and those two

Ideal summer weather
made the Murray family,
reunion a very enjoyable
occasion on Sunday, July
15:
Previous to 1939, the
Reid family had met in
Bright's Grove, Sarnia
for a picnic but in that
year the picnic was ex-
pa•nded to include all
descendants of Mr.. and
Mrs. Angus Murray,
which took in the Murray,
Saunders, Palmer and
Reid families. Each of
these families was
represented at the picnic
on Sunday. The picnic
was held in Harbour
Park, Goderich where 70
members and friends of
the family gathered.
Those coming to the
picnic from a • distance
travelled from Sault Ste
Marie and Perth,
Ontario, Royal Oak,
Warren, Sterling Heights,
and Fraser, Michigan,
Orangeville, Purlington,
Wellesley, London and
Exeter. The persons
coming the greatest
distance were Drake
Piper of Sault Ste. Marie -,
and Mr. and Mrs. William)
Headon and family Of
Perth.'
Four generations of the
Reid family ,were
present: Mrs. Belle Reid,
great-grandmother; her
son, Charles Reid;
grandson, Doug; and his
daughter, Meggin Bar-
tliff-Reid. Another of
•Mrs. •Reid's great-
grandchildren at the
picnic was Allison,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Robert Reid from
Burlington. --
The youngest person
attending the picnic was
three and one-half month
old David, son of Tom -and
Grace Partridge . of
Orangeville.

This building, formerly
the Polley Livery Stable,
will be a great addition to
the cultural life of this
area - especially for the
outlying towns. Musicals,
concerts, film festivals,
live theatre, the dance,
ballet - all the per-
formances that at present
we have to travel miles
and miles to attend - will
be right here in town for
our pleasure.
This is a multi -use
building. Hopefully
besides the cultural
things like music, drama
and other arts; we will
have a place for
seminars, a meeting
place for business and
industry, courses and
lectures and many '•in-

workshop setting. The

BLITZ
for ATOMIC ELECTRIC POWER
Here is the chance for you, the Silent Majority
to fight back. You are the backbone of the
nation -stand up and be counted.v
To the Member of Parliament for Grey -Bruce
The Honourable Dr. G.M. Gurbin
To be presented to:
''The Honourable Prime Minister .1. Clark
We, the signers of this petifion, are of the following opinion:
1. Atomic Electric Power is in the best interest and essential to our
Canadian Economy and our private lives.
2. The Nuclear Electric Power Program should be carried out as
planned. and further expanded as needed, with stepped up
improvements in technology and safety.
. 3...Heatin.g of_houses.should.be_switched., if .possible. -:.to .E.lectti.c ..._..
Heating to conserve Oil and improve the Nation's balance of
payments.
4:The Media and splinter groups (partly from the U.S.I are blowing
the risks involved in Nuclear Electric Power way out of proportion'
and are destroying our Power Program. le.g,: "one worker was
overexposed to the equivalent of one dental X-Rayii
5. The Media should be more objective in its reports and news
casting. New Brunswick has already scrapped ', of its Nuclear
Program because of this incorrect and damaging news -casting. We ,
doNOT want this to happenin Ontario or the rest of Canada
6 Nuclear Electric Power is the cleanest and safest way to produce
the badly needed additional power, until other power sources can
be -found and developed.

worked hard- to have
interesting programs for
the children. 'They
haven't top •much room

None of your tax
dollars go into this and it
will be a great tourist

Because they, are
working so hard to get
things done, the Foun-

volunteer help wi
things in the buil. g.
Perhaps you can' con-
tribute in dollars out your
enthusiasm and helping
hands can really make
great strides in ,getting
things accomplished with
the building. -
• So far, the Foundation
has had some fine young
