Ziebart moves up in standings with two league victories

Ziebart moved third
position in the Maitland
Division standings
winning two league
games last week.
They downed Gord
Sports 4-1 last Wednesday
and defeated Green and
Parent 7-3, Sunday.
The improving Ziebart
squad has, racked up fear
straight victories and
improved their record to
seven wins against six
losses and a tie Tile
victories moved them
into third place, one point
Ball hockey has become a popular suanmer sport in
Goderich since' the program was introduced by the
Goderich Recreation Department in May. The
young men participating in the program are hoping
to attract enough interest in the Thursday evening

Dunlop stars defeat
Maitland Division 5-3
The. Dunlop Division
all-stars eeked out a 5-3
win over their Maitland
Division counterparts in

The Dunlop team piled

breaking up a 1-1 tie with
a three -run homer in the
fourth inning that
provided Ziebart with the
margin off victory.
Gords took a one -run
lead in the second inning

Ziebart tied the game
in their half of the third as
Langlois singled, ad-
vanced on an error and
scored on Arnie Parker's
single.
Ziebart put the game
away with the three -run
outburst in the fourth
inning. Rick Duckworth
led off the inning with a

trouble getting the next

MacDonald nailed a two -
out single to set the stage
for Langlois' three -run
blast.
Langlois also pitched a
fine ball . game limiting
Gords to just three hits
and striking out three

It was a rough week for
_Graham Electric.
French beat them on a

nesday they snatched
defeat from the jaws of
victory against McGees,
and again in the eighth
inning.
The Electrics led the
Pontiacs 3-0 heading info
the bottom of the seventh
inning,, McGees;promptly
tied things up with three
runs in their final at bat,
capped by a clutch two -
out homer by Ken Daer.
Undaunted, Graham
scored the go-ahead run
in the top of the eighth but
again it wasn't enough as
the Pontiacs rallied for
two runs in the bottom of
the eighth and a". 5-4
victory.
Ironically, McGees
scored the tying and
winning runs in the eighth
without a hit. With one
out, Deb Shewfelt was hit
by a pitch. Klumper then
struck out the next batter
