.BY KAREN BEECROFT
Suddenly a penny drops
and things become quite
clear
There is no one left to
impress
and no teachers left to
fear.
Suddenly a penny drops
and things become quite
clear
We the grade eights are
leaving now
and all of us have tears.
Suddenly a penny drops
and things become quite
clear
The grade eights want to
thank you Brookside
For all these wonderful"
years
A warm welcome to all
attending. this simply
wonderful grade eight
graduation.
In my poem, I .men-
tioned that "there is no
one left to impress." Thi6
being bur last year you
realiie that indeed there
is "no one left to .im-
press." .
We're leaving here now
as well as that we will be-
leaving all the teachers
that we have been trying •
to impress with our sweet
talking- and so called -
'good deeds'.
The fourth line of the
first merSew.s.a_y.s_l!and-no--

Well, students, these
teachers that we have
been hiding around
'corners; ducking in
closets and hiding :in
washroom stall's from
• won't bewith us next
year.
Yes, that reminds me
teachers, ;haven `t .you',
noticed how entertaining
it is to see ten people -pile
, into one of those small
little stalls when- one of
you people come tip-
toeing in? Me being a
witness and maybe once
or twice a culprit.know.
—4 -would like to bring to
your attention how lucky
we have been to -attend
this school. We have had
the privilage of many
games, sports and fun
days, outings, trips,
playground apparatus,
and a variety of in-
teresting subjects . and
recess.
Oh yes, I can'
remember the good old
days when Mr: Jewitt
would come in and
calmly remind us thatif •
we didn't 'get our act
together -out -an-the-y
would beno more
recesses. Well, being in
grade eight now you.
realize that this is just a
threat, but even though it
is jiist a threat there is
not one of us out on the
yard the next day withofft
something to do.
You know our parents
haven't received much
mention of • yet and I
really think that they
should be .complimented
on the great •way they
handle us when we come
home with a great big
stack of homework.
Oh, there is the
slamming of books, the
snapping ,of pencils, the
snorts -and the sobs and,
when it's' all over with,
haven't you• noticed
students, the parents just
stand there and say; "oh: -
my aren't they cute when
they do their
homework?"
Well my time here is
drawing to a close and I
•haven't covered half the
th-ings the other. grade
eight students and I
wanted to say. It was__
hard to think up an en-
ding for this so I would.
like to refer back to my
poem.
