The meeting opened by singing the 23rd psalm followed by prayer by --the leader. The remarkable story of the Sunday School over the 196 years since it began in the Anglican Church in Halifax, was read Mrs. Alice Porter, Mrs. Kay Harris and Mrs. Betty Stoner-. The president Mrs. Isobel Sturdy conducted the business, and the roll call was answered by what memory you have of Sunday School. A donation was sent to Family and Children's Services to send a child to camp. June 18 all UCW members are invited t attend United Church camp at Menesetung - take pot luck lunch, - beverage supplied. Pennies were brought in. A reading was given by Mrs. Bessie Townshend on the month of June, Meeting closed. Church News The church was filled last Sunday for the Sunday Sch-0-01 Anniversary. Minister Mr. John Oestreicher, organist, Mrs. Verna Lobb, choir director, Mr. Hugh Lobb; greeters were Mr. and Mrs. Murray Lobb; and the ushers were Robin Lobb, Steven Preszcator, Tim Mayhew and Dennis Thompson - the boys also received the offering. The unison scripture reading was read by Shelley Crawford, Lisa Forbes, Heather Harris, Tracy Norman and Nancy Thompson. The junior Sunday school choir sang "Jesus wants me for a sunbeam". The senior Sunday school choir sang a number. The guest speake-r-s were Mrs. Carman Tebbutt, Ken Trewartha, Mrs. Ben Whitely, Miss Brenda Harris and Doug Yeo. They gave very interesting accounts of their Sunday School days and named their teachers. Mrs. Tebbutt said "All the girls wore hats when she went to Sunday School". School News On Monday June 25 Holmesville School will present kindergarten graduation and awards day. Awards day is in honour of those pupils who were outstanding in Auburn to get library program The Huron County Library is starting a new children's program of crafts, stories and games each Tuesday, 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.%starting July 3. This is to be, held outside the Knox United Ch ch. Icase of rain it will be held in the Sunday school room. All children four to 11 years of' age are welcome. This program is being conducted by three students through the Experience 79 grant. KENNEDY REUNION The 99th Kennedy reunion was held this year in the Auburn Community Memorial Hall with a good at- tendance. Leone Robertson catered -•the lovely dinner with the help of her sisters, Elaine Collins and Doreen Garner. After. dinner, Misses Elise and Heather Lin- dsay entertained with their Scottish dancing which was enjoyed by everyone. Mr. Ralph Jordan of Mitchell played several selections on the piano and Elaine Collins gave a lovely reading. The business meeting followed with the 1980 reunion to be held at Bradn,ock. Several travelled from Kamloops, B.C., Sault Ste. Marie, Toronto, Guelph, London. Michi'gan, U:S.A. and the surrounding com- munities. A social time was enjoyed with a cup of tea before the journey home FUNERAL IN FLINT Word was received here by William J. Craig of the death of his sister- in-law Mrs. Blanch Mcllmurray of Flint Michigan. She passed away while on a holiday in Northern Michigan in her 80th year. She was the wife of the late Roy Stalker who was horn at Auburn and is survived by her second: husband.
