BUCHANAN
The Soviet Union has
always been noted for its
dramatic culture and this
summer many children
and their parents, in-
cluding those in
Goderich, will be able to
enjoy performances by
one of the country's
leading troupe of clowns.
The Bim , Bom Boom
Clown Trio featuring
Akop, Maria and Jan
Ouzounian will visit
Goderich Public Library
on Friday, July 6 on a
tour of the area spon-
sored by Ontario
Outreach grants from the.
Ministry of Culture and
Recreation. The tour is
being co-ordinated by the
Midwestern Library
System. -
The Bim Bom Boom
Clown Trio provide all the
tricks and magic that
have made clowns
famous over the years.
What sets them apart is
their incredible skill at
mime and juggling.
While the troupe has
made its home in
Edmonton, Alberta since
1977, its fame developed
in Russia where Akop
Ouzounian, the leader of
the trio, attended the
Central Studio of Circus
Arts in Moscow. He was
awarded the title of Artist
Emeritus for his work at
the Mosepw Circus and
with his wife and son, has
toured extensively in the
Soviet Union, Bulgaria,
Germany and Finland.
So mark Friday, July 6
on your calendar for the
kids. Exact details of the
performance can be
obtained at the library.
