Last Wednesday Graham dropped a 2-0 decision to Gords Sports but rebounded with a 2-1 win over Green and Parent, Sunday. It leaves Graham with a record of four wins, three losses and a tie for nine points. Three teams, Fisher, Gords and McGees, are tied for second spot, all with eight points. Electric._ .pitcher, George Klumper threw a one -hitter against Gords, Wednesday and still lost 2-0. Klumper had a no- hitter going heading into the bottom of the sixth but a two -out single by Warren Watt scored two runs to clinch the win for Gords Lee Arbour led off the inning by reaching base on an error, Jon Ginn was then hit by a pitch and both runners advanced on a wild pitch. Klumper retired the next two batters before Watt sliced a two -out single to score Arbour and Ginn. It was Gords only hit of the game. Graham managed two hits in the game off Dave Scholl, a „fifth inning single by Fraser Strong and a sixth inning single by Mark Fralrne. Scholl struck out five batters in the win and walked three. Klumper fanned 11 batters and walked two. Graham racked up their fourth win off the season Sunday as they rebounded from a 1-0 deficit with single runs in the fourth and sixth in- nings to defeat Green and Parent 2-1. Klumper again pitched a strong game giving up a single run on three 'hits. He fanned 12 batters and walked seven. Green and Parent took the lead in the second inning when Walter Bell walked an d scored on John Warr's follow up double. The lead stood until the bottom of -the fourth in- ning when Graham tied the game as Mark Frayne doubled and scored on a sacrifice. Frayne scored the winning run in the bottom of the sixth inning after he lead off with a single and scored on a two -out double by Fraser Strong. Frayne and Bruce Bowman combined for four of Graham's five hits and Frayne scored both runs. Three players shared the.. Green and Parent hits. Graham Electric returns to action Sunday with a 5.30 p.m. game against Lakeport Steel. Green and Parent is idle until Monday when they play Little Bowl in an 8.45 p.m. contest at Agriculture Park. Goderich peewees tie Crediton 4-4 The Goderich Peewees tied Crediton 4-4 in their opening game of the season that was called after three and half in- nings. F,ortuneately for Goderich the game was called for curfew after Goderich had just scored three runs in the top of the fourth to tie the game. Goderich took a 1-O lead in the first inning as Randy Gaynor scored and that lead stood until the bottom second when Crediton tied the game on a run by Allan Brand. Crediton took the lead for the first time in the game in the third inning with a three -run outburst to hold a 4-1. Goderich responded with three runs in their half of the fourth inning before the game was called. Jim Keller, Tom Pitre and Richard Bedard scored the Goderich runs. The peewees will host Dashwood in a 6.30 p.m. game Wednesday at Agriculture Park and Thursday they will play in Exeter. Both teams played a physical game and ex- cellent defensive plays by Goderich kept West Lorne from scoring. Their next home game will be this Saturday at Agriculture Park against St. Thomas at 6 p.m. The A and B teams do not play this weekend and will be away the following weekend. Gilbert Vanden Heuvel and Mike Hodges of the Under 19 team, played with the senior teams last weekend and turned Y in excellent games. Bantams lose 5-4 The Bantams travelled to Exeter last Sunday and were defeated in a close game by a score of 5-4. Goderich led 3-0 after the first inning. Runs were scored by David Gallow, Chris Pitre and Gary Abbott. Exeter scored one run in the second and two in the fourth to tie up the game and went ahead- by two in the fifth. In the third inning, Rick Stahl got a single and was tagged out at second base. Gary Abbott got a single and moved to second when Mike Chisholm was hit by a pitched ball. Del Bedard got a walk but was tagged out on a lead- off. Nobody got on base again until the seventh inning. Jeff Denomme led off with a walk and moved to seeond as -the nexthatter, Scott McDonald, got walked also. Denomme tried to steal third and was tagged out. Gallow got walked and moved around to third as McDonald scored when Dehis Kerr got thrown out at first. Pitre got walked and moved on to second base. Stahl hit a hard line drive and, the Exeter player snapped up the ball and threw Gallow out at home, for three out. Denis Kerr went the distance for the Inter- nationals and had 7 strike -outs. This was their second game of the season. On June 5 they played host to Seaforth and defeated them 10-1. Next home game is June 19 against Exeter. Same time 6:30. Mosquito ages and every kid of this age category play every Wednesday night at the High School. In the first night of House League action Team No. 4 defeated Team No. 1 by a score of 6-2. Then Team No. 3 beatTeam No. 2 by A - s -co -r -e F -O. The e-x-ee ut ive would strongly recom- mend the parents come out to the field and cheer these young boys and girls to victory. The Executive of G.M.S.A. for 1979 are: John. Bissett, president; Kase Vanden Heuvel, vice-president; Roy Straughan, secretary; Rolf Wirtzfeld, treasurer and Mike Cox, Gil Vanden Heuvel and Ed Smythe, directors. The Squirt team will be coached again this year by Mike Cox. The Squirts are not in competition again this year but will be playing exhibition games. The Squirts practice is every Wed - 1 75 nesday at the Robertson Memorial School grounds. Any child still interested in playing soccer can still be registered.
