Window- to be dedicated
Saturday June 9, the
congregation held a
cleanup day on the
church grounds. With
new trees and flowers
planted and grass
trimmed it looks quite
attractive.
Sunday, June 17 the
dedication of the Hayden
stained glass window will
take place. A luncheon
and social- hour in the
Church hall will follow.
Church time is 2 p.m. and
everyone is welcome.

Fifty years ago on June
14th, the late Reverend
Charles H. MacDonald unit-
ed ii marriage Edna Fowler
and Dynes Campbell, at the
Presbyterian manse in Luck -
now. On Saturday many
friends, neighbours and rela-
tives gathered in the United
Church Sunday School rooms
to help recall the happy
occasion, with an open
house. Two of Edna's sisters
in the U.S.A. were unable to
attend. The . happy couple
received many lovely gifts
and congratulatory messages
including one from Robert
McKinley and Murray Gaunt
presented a plaque from the
province.
Decoration day services
will be held at the cemetery
on Sunday, June 24th at 3.15
p.m. this year. The silver
collection will go for cemet-
ery upkeep.
Mr. and Mrs. Steve Park
spent Sunday with Mrs.
Elwyn Feagen and family at
Nile. At church services on
Sunday 12 hymn books were
deciated to- the memory of
the late Elwyn Feagen.
Mr. and Mrs. Harvey. Mole
of Lucknow visited on Satur-
day evening with Mr. and
Mrs. Ben Mole.
On Saturday afternoon
many people called at the
library to enjoy a visit and
help our librarian, Beth
McConnell, celebrate her
65th birthday. Beth will be
retiring later this year and a
replacement is being sought.

Many people from this
area attended the successful
auction sale in Lucknow on
Saturday held for Mrs. Zetta
Henderson:
A girlfriend shower was
held on Wednesday evening
for'July bride -elect, Elaine
Stewart, at the -home of Mrs.
Debbie Park. After opening
the many lovely gifts, Elaine
displayed the ribbons in a
very unique way and thanked
everyone very graciously.
A four team soccer house
league has been set up this
year for children attending
.5')9,77 1
public school. The teams
being Lucknow, Colborne,
Kingsbridge and Dungan-
non. The season starts June
14th with all teams slated for
action. Games will start at 7
p.m. and will be played with
2 halves consisting of 30
minutes apiece with a 5
minute rest between halves.
Each `team is to play 10
games, one game per week
followed by playoffs in late
August. There will be a
trophy presented to the
winning team for their ef-
forts. Support is greatly
needed by parents, children,
coaches and officials if this
league is to be a success. The
people in each community
who are greatly involved
would appreciate your help;
Denise Dalton, Mark Frayne
and Jim Van Osch for Kings-
bridge; Blair Alton and Mike
Dennis for Lucknow; The
Colborne Recreation Com-
mittee and George Lock, -and
each school area, John Kane
for Colborne, Charles Davies

team formed last year and

On Wednesday the Dun-
gannon "A"s defeated the
Lucknow girls on the Dun-
gannon diamond while the
Dungannon "Beez" defeat-
ed Kinloss in Kinloss.
On Tuesday night. in the
slow pitch Kingsbridge de-
feated Dungannon by a score
of 16 - 15 at Dungannon. On
Monday evening at the local
diamond West Wawanosh
and Lanes playedbut no
score is known. I would
appreciate it if some member
of each team would give me a
call at 7719 with the• results
of their games for the paper.

Glen Tigert graduated
with an Honours Bachelor of
Arts Degree in Geography
from University of Western
Ontario. His parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Jack Tigert, attend-

a balloon
Three balloons
travelled last Sunday
from Hicksville, Ohio to
the farm of Mr. and Mrs.
Hugh Bennett near Port
Albert and were picked
up about 6 p.m. by their
son Jim.
The balloons, blue,
green and pink, were tied
together and bore the
note sent on Sunday June
l0 by Kimberley Kimstout
at Vacation Bible School.
On the note was also
written that the children
were to report in October
where their balloons had
been found. Only the blue
balloon remained inflated
when Jim found them.
Mrs. Bennett has written
to this girl in Ohio to tell
her how fast the balloons
had travelled.

at McMaster University,
spent a week of holidays at
her home. She has returned
to Hamilton' where she will
be employed for the summer.
