May 31 the E.14 Barber arrived light from Buf- falo for salt. May 31'th E. B. Barber cleared harbour for Parry Sound with salt. June 3 the Algobay arrived light from Sarnia for salt. June 3 the Lac Des Isles arrived from Collingwood with a part load of grain. June 4 the Algobay cleared harbour for Montreal with salt. Top finishers and top money earners in the GDCI Jog-A-Walk-A-Thon were honored for their efforts at an awards assembly at the school Monday. The students held theevent in May to raise money for a proposed athletic field near the school. Mr. Garratt of Kyles, Kyles and Garratt was present to answer detailed questions regarding the procedures involved in building a township hall. Council passed a motion to engage Kyles, Kyles and Garratt to design a township hall. Bylaw 7, 1979, a bylaw to permit the township to enter into a development agreement with • M. Timms, was given three readings and passed. An agreement between M. Timms and the township 'for develop- ment of part of lot 13, Maitland Concession, was read and approved by council and the clerk and reeve were authorized to sign the agreement on behalf of the township. Interim warden named For the first time in his 20 years with Huron County , Council, clerk treasurer Bill Hanly had to have an interim 'warden -named by council on Thursday to handle the duties for Warden Jack Tinney. Warden Tinney had taken ill while at a health conference in Timmins. He had . suffered a gallbladder attack there earlier in the week and on Thursday was being flown from Timmins to London's University Hospital for surgery.
