The second show is slated for Sunday, June 24th when any new members or spectators would be most welcome. Mr. and Mrs. Ben Mole attended the 42nd wedding anniversary for Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Mole held at the Anglican Parish Hall in Luck - now on Sunday afternoon, put on by their son Don and daughter, Marion. Mr. and Mrs. Alvin McDonald of Brussels visited later at the Ben Mote home. Several others from the village also attended this anniversary celebration. The Auburn Midgets were defeated in an exhibition game against Westfield on June 2. Coaches are reminded of the general . meeting Saturday, June 9 at 8 p.m. at . Ceramics by Bess' shop. SOFTBALL The Auburn ladies won over Benmiller ladies May 21 with a score of 28 to 4. Londesboro plays the Auburn ladies in Auburn, Thursday, May 31 at 7:15 p.m. The Auburn midget boys play at home against Westfield, Saturday, June 2 at 7:15 p.m. - Come out to watch and enjoy a game: The softball committee. approved a motion to extend the registration to June 2 for money to be paid to Mrs. Bess Slater. Thereafter the $1 per person penalty will be in effect. Bill Sproul has agreed to handle the booking of the• Auburn softball diamond. The schedule ' at the Auburn diamond is so far — Monday -Auburn ladies and travelling squirt team; Tuesday -midget., girls; Wednesday -midget boys; and Thursday - ladies and House League squirts. The midget and squirt team are to start play the week of June 18 and enter playoffs the week of July 30. are sporting new bright blue team shirts. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Marsh of Auburn and Mrs. ,Edith Thompson of Brampton visit- ed on Saturday evening with Mel Jones. Mr. and Mrs. Mike Rhody, Janice, Steven and Brian of Goderich visited with Mr. and Mrs. Bill Park and family on Sunday. Congratulations are ex- tended to Mr. and Mrs. Dynes Campbell who are celebrating their 50th wed- ding anniversary on Satur- day, June 9. Mr. and Mrs. Bill_ Berry had their granddaughter, Michele Berry of Streetsville on the weekend. Her parents are in the process of moving to Huron Haven trailer park from Streetsville. Tanya Hodges, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Terry Hod- ges, has been sick with tonsillitis. Laurie Hayden spent the weekend with Sherry Hod- ges. Mr. and Mrs. Hector Mac. Auley of Calgary, Alberta are visiting with Mrs. Mac ul- ey's aunt, Mrs. Flossie Ivers, DUNGANNON UNITED CHURCH The congregation particip- ated in a Litany for Pentecost Sunday. Rev. C. G. West - haver preached the second in his series on Genesis, "Man, the Keeper of God's Gard- en". The children's story was "To him that lifts the stone". The choir sang the, anthem, "It is no secret", led by organist, Mrs. Jean Elliott. By agreement of the Board of Stewards a list of persons willing to volunteer their services in mowing the church lawn is being.,com- piled. A schedule for the weekly mowing during the summer months will be made up when the number of volunteers is complete. The Tyro boys are holding a Bikeathon on Monday. The proceeds go to Tyro purpos- ' es, including Tyro shirts. The boys are thankful' for the support of the community. The Bible Study Group has decided to disband for the summer months. From last Sunday's pastor- al charge service and picnic at Menesetung Camp the sum of $53.61 was donated to the camp from the loose offering. This included Port Al- bert, Dungannon and Nile and the amount of $1554.03 was collected. With more suitable weath- er these last three weeks, farmers in this area have - been very-busyplantingtheir crops. Most of 'the barley, oats, flax and corn planting has been completed and bean planting will soon be the order of the day. Many of the southern counties have not been so fortunate weath- erwise as Huron County. Soon the fields will all be green again. On Monday evening, May 28, Lisa Frayne, Denise Con- nelly, and Melissa Martin took part in the annual Highland Dancing Recital at MacKay Hall in Goderich. On Saturday evening, June 2, Lisa also took part in the annual recital of the Cum- brae School of Dancing at Kincardine. Ken and Lucille King of -Welland spent the past week with her sister, Clarice Dal- ton and"family. Her daught- er, Ann and Bruce Pritchard of Mississauga also visited with them. Many from this area spent an enjoyable evening danc- ing to "Chicory". This was sponsored by St. Joseph's Community School Associa- tion. Beau Daniel Riegling, in- fant sow of Max and Helen Riegling,, was christened by Rev. Ed Dentinger, C.R. at St. Joseph's Church on Sun- day, June 3rd. Godparents are Mike and Joan Courtney. Also present were the grand- parents, Mr. and Mrs: Carl Riegling and Mrs. Marcella Couj-tney, Mrs. Betty Mur- ray, Brother Carl Voll, John O'Connor and Margaret Frayne. Later all gathered at the Riling home on High- way 8 Patrick Michael Dalton, infant son of Terry and Anne Dalton, was christened on Sunday, June 3rd at St. Joseph's Church, by the Rev. Ed Dentinger, C.R. Grand- parents Ray Dalton, and Mrs. George Lienhardt prox- ied for the . Godparents, Kathy and Jim MacDonald, of Chilliwack, B.C. Also present were Anne's sisters, Janet Lienhardt and Mrs. Brian White and Shauna and Michael of St. Clements, and Brother Carl Voll. All came to visit with the Daltons afterwards. Mary Luanne Clare sang with the Teen Tones at North Street United Church, God- erich, on Sunday morning, Visiting with Tom and Karla Hogan on the weekend were Stan and Rosemary (Hogan) Holloway of Strat- ford and Jim and Bonnie Hogan of Goderich. °' Mrs. Grace Austin visited in Toronto with her brother, Fred And Florence Courtney and sister,,Rita and Tom Bryant and ivian last week. Antone and Delores Van- Osch, Bill and Anne Van- Osch, and Pete and Betty VanOsch were guests at the wedding off their cousin, Marianne Linders and David Perry. The ceremony took place at St. John the Evan- gelist -R: C Chuccl-t -in Whitby, Ontario. At the re- ception following, Bill took ill suddenly and was hospital- ized for a few days at Whitby General Hospital before re- turning home to convalesce. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Sinnett are the proud grandparents of Daniel Shaun Vassella Nelson, born to Sheila and Robert Nelson of Calgary, Alberta. Great grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Fred Vassella of Kintail and Mrs. Nora Sinnett of Gaithers- burg, Md. Sheila's brother Ed visited,with them recently in Calgary. - Mr. and Mrs. Jim Gilmore attended -the- 30th anniver- sary celebration of the priest-. hood for her brother, Father Paul Milne. The Solemn High Mass was concelebrat- ed at the Community Com- plex at Mooretown. Approx- imately 450 attended the Mass 'and Reception follow- ing. Father Paul Milne is the Parish Priest at Corunna. Ripley W.I. marks anniversary Recent visitors in the visitors the community were Mrs. Allan McCharles and children of Oakville with Mr. and Mrs. • Oliver McCharles. Mr. and Mr's. Rod Finlayson and girls and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Finlayson and family, all of Sarnia were with Mrs. Gordon Finlayson. In fact, the Finlayson family all enjoyed.a visit at home with sister Carol before her return to Calgary where she works. Mr. and' Mrs. Don Ainslie of Toronto visited with Mr. and Mrs. Frank MacLennan. Visiting Mr. and Mrs. George Moncrief were Betty and Joe Vilet of Naperville and Eileen and Robert Oddy of Auckland, New Zealand. WIND STORM The wind storm last week toppled a tree on the MacKenzie Sideroad and several who attempted to come through from Kintail were forced to detour.
