Sergeant Gerry Hilgendorf of the Goderich police
department told the Goderich Beavers Saturday that
he was impressed with their knowledge of safety rules
for bicycles and their ability to handle their two
wheelers. The officer watched the youngsters com-
plete a special obstacle course designed to test safe
riding and ability. He told the youngsters all they had
to do now is teach their parents the same safety
habits. Looking on is Beaver leader Ann Scott. (photo

Michael Alcock executed a near perfect stop once
he was given an' opportunity to in the Goderich
Beaver group bike rodeo Saturday. Michael's first
run at the stop sign was interrupted by a stray adult
and he had to repeat the move. But when the adult
got in his way Michael did everything «he was
supposed to do. He sounded his horn and offered the
wayward parent a rather icy glare. (photo by Jeff
Eight year old Brian Hutchins seems to be deep in
thought as he guides his bike along a straight line in
the Goderich Beaver bike rodeo Saturday. Mem-
bers of the Beaver group rode their two wheelers
through a variety of obstacles designed to test their
abilities and safety awareness. (photo by Jeff

Razz packed them in
BY BOB POULIN "
This past week patrons
of the Bedford Court
Lounge in Goderich were
treated to some of the
finest talent in rock and
roll this area has had-i•.g a
long time..
A few people com-
mented that the band,
called "Razz" was too
talented for this area.
Too talented? No Way!
This area needs the best.,,
'Razz opened their first
set with commercial
material such as "Boys
are Back in Town" and
selections from the Cars
& Cheap Trick.
They changed quickly
in the foliowing sets to
well played Van Haien,
Ted Nugent and Led
Zeppelin, keeping every
one rocking in their seats.
The first lead guitarist,
Rick Jenning, from
- Toronto, featured an
original tune named
"Holocaust" He wrote it
himself and made- use of
excellent vocals from
drummer Ben Cleveland,
also of Toronto.
The band is very
versatile, capable of
punching sound out at a
high wattage.
During a medley of Led
Zepplin, lead singer
David Angus of Toronto
reached the audience
with a combination of
clear vocals and ex-
cellent background music
to set everyone cheering.
in full appreciation.
In addition to his
singing voice, drummer
Ben Cleveland can beat
the drums using bare
hands to a pair of three
foot table legs - 'again
showing the ever-present
non-stop talent of this
nightclub act.
Throughout the show,
Ted Shaw of Chatham
demonstrated gym_
nastics, acrobatics, fine
high -steps and lengthy'
guitar licks.
At some point during
every show, Razz must do
something just a little
different. A man referred
to as "Just Plain Alice"
comes on stage briefly
with Monty, an eight -foot
python. -His ap-
pearance brought mixed
reactions from the
audiende,
performed by this four
month-old group. of rock
and rollers. They dive
into a session of music by
the father of theatric
music, Alice Cooper.
This entire session of
Cooper selections is done
with such finesse that
Alice himself would be
pleased to witness it.
The only drawback of
the group's performance
was in the accoustic
layout of the Court
Lounge. Because of this
problem, bass, guitarist
Don Caddy was con,
stantly bouncing sound
all over the lounge area.
The problem was well
compensated by the man
on sound and lights.
Alice is played by Paul Razz wbuld like tb
