great golfing season this
year. Let's hope we all
can break par.

with a gorgeous. sunny

-the warm temperatures
continue straight through
the golfing season. As
they say,. "Better late
than never".
Men's NUte got off to a
good start last week with

A motion to make
Stanley Street a one-way
street off Kingston. Street
to southbound traffic was
tabled by town council
Monday for further
study.
The traffic committee
proposed making Stanley
Street one-way with no
parking permitted on the
west, side of the street.
The matter was raised
at a previous council
meeting but council
attend the first event on
Sunday May 27.
The membership
campaign is now in full
swing. Plan to join before
May 29th as we have a 79

opinion " of the Legion
executive before making
a decision.
Legion representative
Walter Sheardown said it
would be more feasible to
make Stanley a one-way
street off Elgin Avenue
and allow 32 angle
parking spots. Angle
parking could be ac-
comodated by removing
the boulevard.
A Stanley Street
resident opposed the
suggestion claiming
severi trees have been
removed from the street
without replacements
already and that the
proposed scheme would
necessitate the removal
of another tree.
He added that the
Legion has had options on
propertiesin the area
that would have been
suitable for parking lots.
The matter was tabled
until the next council
meeting.

full of sunshine.
Our eighth_ Anniversary
