West Wawanosh Council
Dungannon sidewalks discussed
Tenders for the con-
struction of a portion of
sidewalk in Dungannon
were discussed at a
meeting of the West
Wawanosh Township
Council on Tuesday, May
Eight tenders were
received for the new
sidewalk ranging from
$3,570 to $14,400. Tenders
for removal of the old
sidewalk ranged from
$9,75 fo $1800.
Members. voted to
accept the $3.570 tender
of Murray Simpson', Councillors Hickey and
Cranston moved that the
Reeve be authorized to
sign, on behalf of the
Township, an Agreement
with John Hakkers for
drainage of road' water
across tiis property. The
motion was carried.
R.R.3 Wingham, for the
sidewalk construction.
Cecil Cranston, R.R.2
Auburn, will remove and
dispose of the .old con-
crete for $475.
In other - business, the
council approved a
motion by -Councillors
Aitchison and Cranston
for a $100 grant to the
Lucknow Agricultural
Society and the
Dungannon Agricultural
Society.
The Council authorized
the Clerk to apply for an
advance from - the
Ministry of Housing in the
amount of $27,500 under
the Ontario Home
Renewal Program.
The Ontario Home
Renewal Program Guide
for Residential Property
has been adopted by the
West Wawanosh.
Township as its basis for
.building standards in the
township.
The Council passed a
motion by Councillors
Cranston and Aitchison to
refuse a building permit
for the Lucknow
Christian School Society
on the grounds that all
conditions ' set down . by
the Land Division
Committee on the
issuance of the severance
had not been met:
