On Saturday, April 21,
Grades 4, 5 and 6 went to
Stratford for a Floor
Hockey Tournament. St.
Joseph's Junior Girls won
the championship.
They played against
Sacred Heart, Wingham,
St. Mary's, Goderich,
Ecole Ste. Marie, and St.
Columban.
On Monday, April 23,
John McCauley,
Superintendent from the
Huron -Perth Board came
to Kingsbridge and took
part in the 9:00 a.m. Mass
for the start of Education
Week.
At -10 a.m. the same day
Bob McKinley,
Progressive Con-
servative candidate for
the upcoming election
came to talk with Grades
5 to 8. He gave each
student a Canada flag pin
and a card with a picture
of himself on.
At 1:00 p.m. Graeme
Craig, the Liberal can-
didate talked to Grades 5
to 8 and gave out pam-
phlets with his personal
background and pictures
of him and his family to
all present.
On Tuesday, April 24,
the parents, teachers and
students had a volleyball
tournament at 12:30 p.m.
The parents and teachers
won with a score of 15 to
8.
Wednesday, April 25
and Thursday, April 26
Grades 5 to 8 had public
speaking.
In Grade 5 the winners
in the poems were, Lonny
Doherty, Linda Van
Osch, Jackie Delbergue;
readings were, Cathy
O'Connor, Junior
Pelletier, Danny Wilson.
In Grade 6 the winners
in the poems were,
Tammy Gilmore, Gerda
Hendriks, Freddy
Durnin; in the' readings
were, Mary Lynn
Doherty, Billy Card,
Shawn Durnin.

On Thursday, April
Grades 6, 7 and 8 com-
peted in French
speaking.

The junior floor hockey
team went to Liicknow Public
School on Thursday, April 19
to compete with the 'junior
team there. Unfortunately
Brookside team was defeated
7-4.
FIELD TRIPS
Five classrooms-, Grades 2,
3, 4, 5 and 6 went by bus on
Friday to see the circus at
Kitchener. They left around
9 a.m. and were back at the
school in time to go home on
their regular buses. Several
_parents.. . accompanied_ the
teachers and children and all
reported a very interesting
day. '
