playing method staged by
the Division of Com-
munications, under the
Reverend Wilena Brown,
Bluevale.
The first presentation
indicated the result of an
autocratic decision; the
second, the passive at-
titude of the chairman
and. the .third, a thorough
discussion in which the
membership's views are
drawn out and a
democratic decision
reached.
Mrs. Doris Zurbrigg,
Listowel, reported that
350 women attended the
UCW annual at Lambeth;
33 of them from Huron -
Perth. Special events
were planned for Alma
College, Westminster
College and Menesetung
camp.
Claire Boyd announced
the Ontario Roundup at
Geneva Park and con-
ferences at Delawana Inn
and University of Toronto
for men of the church.
A resolution being
forwarded to London
Conference was read by
Mrs. Evelyn Demaray,
Bluevale. It requested
that dialogue between
French and .English
speaking people take
place within the context
of a united Canada:
It was;: indicated that
Conference was to be
asked to urge
congregations to study
the theme, Land Use -
ownership, a privilege
not a right. Huron -Perth
committees have made a
significant contribution
in this area.
The Reverend Bruce
Eaton, in his Outreach
report, encouraged the
exchange of pulpits in
May 1980 to promote, his
committee's objectives.
He told the court of
several traumatic ex-
periences in Zaire.
The Reverend Bert
Daynard, Staffa,
reported that as of July 1
Dashwood and Zurich
will unite as one
congregation. The court
was told that the
Reverend Daynard was
commended by Con-
ference for his con-
tribution to the. church.
A controversial
discussion followed a
suggestion to ask the
Ministry of Health and
Welfare to rescind its
order to decrease
hospital beds. The result
was a directive to study
alternatives and present
them to the Ministry.
Serious concern was
expressed for senior
citizens.
The 22 -year history of
Singtime was presented
by Joe Snider. The
Reverend John
Oestreicher conducted
the worship service.
