was approved by council
and councillor MacPhee
was appointed the
representative on the
Fire Committee for
Colborne Township.
The severence
requested by Kenneth.
and Linda Brindley was
approved by council.
Four building permits
were also approved.
A letter from the
Ministry of Natural
Resources requesting
Colborne Township to
'participate in a cost-
sharing arrangement
with Huron County was
dicussed by council.
FINANCIAL
STATEMENT
At the April 17 meeting
of Colborne Township
Council, township ac-
countant Ben Straughan,
presented council with
the township financial
statement for the year
ending December 31, 1978
as prepared by
MacGillivray and
Company, chartered
accountants. The
statement was accepted
by council with a request
to have a MacGillivray
representative attend the
council meeting of May 1
regarding the 1978
financial statement that
could be printed for
mailing to the municipal
ratepayers.
Straughan informed
council tha the 1979 farm
and residential mill rate
would be 144.72 mills, an
increase of 8.25 Mills. He
said he would have the
1979 budget typed for the
May 1 meeting. He also
reported an inquiry from
Gordon Jewell regarding
the township road ditch in
front of his house.
Council approved- the
Westlake severance
number 201, 1978 subject
to an - easement of the
present laneway to
County Road 31 being
provided since that area
property ^was designated
residential in the
Colborne Township
Secondary Plan.
Council instructed the
road superintendent to
purchase a tank, pump
and required hoses to
rebuild the road
department's roadside
weed sprayer.
As gravel was required
on the boundary road at
Nile, council decided that
no oil for roads would be
ordered.
DRAINS
Council discussed the
re -assessment of the John
Allin Drain and grader
specifications. -
The tender of G.W.
Clarke, Arva, for the
construction of the John
Feagan Municipal -Drain
was chosen from five
tenders received, subject
to the engineer's ap-
proval.
Fordyce Clark,
township drainage in-
spector, requested that
Reeve Bogie and coun-
cillor Kernighan meet
with him and Craig Piper
of the M.V.C.A.- at Tom
Hill's property regarding
a drain.
A preliminary report
regarding, the. _ Lawlor.
Municipal 'Drain was
approved by resolution.
Three written ap-

examined and discussed
by council.

were approved by council
and one was held over
pending furthur in-
formation.
Henry Brindley was
