prepared: he brought
down his golf clubs,
tennis raquet and rake.
Needless to say he was
pressed into service with
the work gang.
But the course is drying
up beautifully and the top
six holes have been in•use
for a week now, and Pete
estimates the whole
course will be ready for
the onslaught of eager
golfers by the first of
May. By the way, did you
know that all nine holes
used to be on the top part,
where six are now? It was
a compact little course,
and presented quite a
challenge with a hole
called the "Frog Pond",
with "you know what , In
line with the green. And
of course there was the
"Punch Bowl", a short
hole from the present
fifth tee to a green up on
the hill near where the
highway bridge is now.
The Punch Bowl was in
existence up until th0
Dept. - of Highways
chased some of our land,
and then the course had
to be re -arranged, again.
The nets are up on' the
tennis courts and courts
are already in use. That's
the beauty of tennis on
asphalt courts, you don't
have to wait for the
ground to dry•out.
We hope all members
