is $1,000 richer this week
after winning the
Goderich and District
Community Grandstand
lottery with lucky ticket
number 0095.•. There is
only one draw left for this
lottery.

If you are discouraged
-because' you bought a
grandstand lottery ticket
and kyave not won
anything, think bigger!
Did you know that you
can actually send for a
brochure entitled, "Wise
Planning for Loto Canada
Winners". The brochure
is for major prize winners
and contains a lot of
helpful and fun in-
formation about in-
vesting money.
I'd say the definition of
an optimist is someone
who sends for the
brochure just in case....
Beginning May 9, for
the first time, area
women will be offered the
opportunity to learn
custom drapery and
sheer making.
Each student will be
given professional in-
struction by Miki Besse
at Victoria Public School.
The budget tips and,
fabric care will be a
composite of her 28 years
experience in her own
business. "
This course is not for
everyone. It is designed
for the budget -conscious
woman who sincerely
wants her home to be
beautiful. It is designed
so that renters will learn
to make drapes that will
move with them. It is
designed so the sincere
will have their drapes
ready to add elegance to
their homes for the
summer.
Each student 'should
coni"e to the TirStYclass..
with ,either a photo of the
area to be draped or a
drawing. Each should
scan magazines, and
come to class with a
dream of the finished
design of their choice.
'Fite "enrolm'ent
requirements are: very
sharp scissors, a ready
access to a sewing
machine, a good steam
iron and a' desire• to be
distinctive in decor.
In order that facilities
can be properly planned,
it is wise to phone your
intention to join the calss
early to the Goderich
Recreation Office at 524-
8373.
Gasses will be held
each Wednesday from
6:30 to 10:30 'p.m. and
Saturdays from IO a.m. to
5 p.m. beginning May 9
and continuing until June.

Ever wonder how to
entertain your visitors
when they come to
Goderich? Take them to
the Huron County
Pioneer Museum. You
can spend an entire day
exploring exhibits from
the turn of the century in
this fascinating building.
Visitors will love it
(between 22,000 and
25,000 are attracted
annually) and if you
haven't been there for
awhile yourself, you may
be surprised to see some
new additions. The
number of historical
items has increased to
12,000 requiring five
additions to the original
building.
During the winter
months the museum is
'open daily from 9 a.m. to
5:30 p.m.., (the ticket
office closes at 4:30
p.m.). From May 1 to
October 31, the museum
is open weekends as well
(on Sundays it opens at 1
p.m.)'. There are guided
tours from mid June until
Labour Day. -
Raymond Scotchmer,
curator of the museum,
says a grand opening for
this season is,being held
on Saturday, May 5.

They are for the most
part impulsive travellers

Our community
benefits from visitor
spending. Every com-
munity needs new money
to progress and there are
only two sources, the
export of goods and
services and the import
of people.
A tourist can be from a
great distance or just a
few miles down the road.
Generally speaking a
tourist is someone who
spends his money in a
community other than
where it is earned.
Treat tourists to
Goderich with hospitality
this year and they may
come back again and
again.
