When they returned to the Church, they enjoyed a delicious breakfast of bacon and eggs. The 9:45 a.m. service was well attended. Rev. Oestreicher talked to the children about Jesus before going to their classes. The pink hydrangea was placed in the sanctuary in loving memory of Orval Blake by his wife and family, the choir sang two hymns. The text of the sermon was what are you looking for?. Bill Crawford and Brian Riddell received the offering. Personals Lynda Blake was home on the weekend with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Blake. Prepare for Operetta SCHOOL NEWS Colborne Central School, Grade 6, 7 and 8 students are making splendid progress with their rehearsals for the Operetta, The HMS Pinafore, which they will be presenting for the public on Thursday, April 26 and Friday, April 27 at the school. So that all attending will be able to hear and see - ----to -- --co-m-p-lete- satisfaction, they are planning only 200 seats for each performance. You are urged to get your tickets early from the Grade 6, 7 and 8 students. Admission will be $1 in advance and should there be any tickets left over, they can be purchased at the door for $1.50. The school staf are proud of the way in which the children conducted themselves at the 'recent area° •Basketball- Tour- nament. The girls won third placeand the boys. won second place. The children acquitted themselves admirably. April 27 is Profession Activity Day. This will be held at Exeter and discussion will be on Morals and Values in Education. The Women's Institute annual meeting will be held in Colborne Town- ship Hall on Thursday, Apiril 26 starting with a riot luck luncheon at 1 p.m. (members please bring place setting). CHURCH NEWS The Youth Group of Benmiller Church will be having another skating party at Vanastra on Monday, April 23 at 8:45 to 9:45 p.m. Everyone going is asked to meet at the church at 8 p.m. to be sure of transportation for all. This invitation is for everyone in the com- munity, so come out and join the young people. For the skating, there is an admission of 50 cents. After the party, all are -invited back to the church for lunch which will be prepared by the ladies of the community. Plan to attend and enjoy an evening with friends and neighbours. Huronview News A representative of the Huronview Auxiliary will not be attending, this year's convention held by the Ontario Association of Homes for the Aged. That decision was made when the auxiliary met in the craft room at Huronview on April 16 at 2 p.m. in res'ponse to a letter from the association. The president Leona Lockhart opened the meeting with the Lord's Prayer. She then read a poem entitled "Grand- mothers". It was also decided that the Blossom Tea will be held June 9, and plans for it were discussed. It is hoped the Women's Institute will assist with donations of baking for the bake table. The next meeting will be May 21 at 2 p.m. Visitor§ are welcome.
