Girl's choir entertains
Holmesville UCW

The UCW held their
Thankoffering service on
Tuesday, April 3 at 8 p.m.
The president Isobel
Sturdy chaired the
meeting.
The leader welcomed
all who attended. The
scripture, meditation and
prayer were taken by
Mrs. Irene Cudmore and
Mrs. Muriel Grigg.
The girls' choir sang
Oestreicher brought
palm branches to show
the children, as he told
them the story of Palm
Sunday, before they went
to . their classes. The
men's choir sang a hymn
and The Day of Trial was
the topic for the sermon.
Frank Thompson and
Brian Riddell received
the offering. The Easter
Sunday Sunrise Service is
to be held on the top of the

camp. In her com-
mentary, as' she showed
the slides, she spoke of
the worship and vesper
services at camp,,,and the
benefits the young people
enjoy there.; Mrs. Pat-
terson 'led a sing -song of
various songs ,sung at
camp. Mrs. Charlotte
Normdin ttianke'd Mrs.
Patterson for cording and

information of the
privileges of life at Camp
Menesetung. She was
presented with a gift and
a donation.

A children's poem was
read by Irene Cudmore.'
Mrs. Phyllis Cox gave an
interesting account of
early settlers who chose
to build a church in
preference to other
things. The meeting
closed with the
benediction. A delicious
lunch and social hour was
enjoyed by all present.

At last Sunday's
worship service, Rev.
Ministry
expands
station
The Ontario Ministry of
Agriculture ' and Food
recently purchased a 48.4
hectare farm adjacent to
the Elora Research
Station, to expand and
-streamline agricultural
research programs.
The research station,
located 22 km northeast
of Guelph, is operated by
the Ontario Agricultural
College of the University
of Guelph for the Ontario
Ministry of Agriculture
and Food.
"The station has been
in a land -deficient
position for some time,"
says Dr. Bruce Stone,
Acting Associate Dean,
OAC. 'This acquisition
squares off the present
area and brings the total
area at this station to
436.4 ha."
In addition to the
production of roughages,
plans for the new acreage
include fertility research
by the Department of
Land Resource Science
and crops research by the
Department of Crop

ANNUAL MEETING
THURS. APRIL 19

BJECTIVES •
1. To organize, promote and develop a Junior hockey
team which continually maintains the image and
reputation of good sportsmanship in the Town of
1iriLdn.
2. To provide challenges and opportunities for players
developing through the Minor Hockey Organization in
Clinton and the surrounding area.
3. To allow qualified athletes to ' continue the
development of their hockey skills to their optimum
potential while locally developing their educational
• skills.
4. To formulate and maintain an active Executive who
will carry out all administrative duties and insure that
all efforts are made to budget finances, initiate
projects. control policy and defray costs of operation in
order to operate a totally self-supporting operation.
ORGANIZATION
Junior Hockey shall he operated under the Rules and
Regulations of the O.H.A.
2. The teat» shall he known as the Clinton Mustangs.
3. For legal purposes and such financial conditions as
may he encountered, the team shall he. sanctioned by
the Clinton Recreation Committee, If the lean, ceases
'to operate, all assets, equipment and records shall
revert to the Clinton Recreation Committee.
4. Management shall he by an Executive. elected
annually. :it a public meeting held' in April.
5. l'wo auditors shall he elected at the annual public
1 seting. These auditors shall have access re the hooks
and records of the organization at any reasonable
time: shall prepare and print a financial statement for
presentation at the annual meeting, and such ad-
ditional financial statements as may he requested by
the Executive and -or the Clinton Recreation Com-
mittee-.
6. Ranking shall he done at the Clinton Community
Credit Union.
7. No changes or alterations shall he made•to the
constitution except at the annual public Meeting.
R. Any executive member who absents himself for
more than 3 consecutive meetings. without the per-
mission of the executive, shall he considered inactive,
and the executive may appoint a, person to fill his seas
for the balance of the year.
EXECUTIVE
1. The Executive shall he composed of 7 members, and
shall hold office for 1 year. One of the 7 members shall
he appointed by Minor Hockey, and failing such ap-
pointment, the President of Minor Hockey. One of the 7
n,enrher's shall he appointed hy the Clinton Recreation
('onrn'ittee,. and, failing .such .appointment., the._
representativeshall he the chairman of the Recreation
Comnrittet. Five members shall he elected at the
annual nineting in April.
'. The'Executive',sknll,hold regular meetings on the 1st
Wednesday of every Month. Emergency meetings may
be called hy the President at such times as are deemed
necessary. hut only if members are given reasonable
advance notice. Emergency meetings may also be
called at any time by the request of a majority of the
Executive members. A quorum shall consist of 4
members. and no business may legally he conducted,
unless a quorum is present.
3. The Executive at the first meeting shall select 1 of
their members to act as President, and 1 of their
members as Vice President,
The executive may select 1 of their members to act.
as Sec.-Treas. or may appoint a suitable person to fill
such office, or may divide the duties and appoint both a
secretary and a treasurer. The appointment of a
secretary or treasurer front the public does not carry
voting powers on the executive.
5. The executive shall negotiate annually with the
Recreation Committee, such items as concern both
organizations. and see that the results of such
• 4' otiations are properly recorded.
6. The Executive set up such sub committees as are
needed for the successful operation of the club, and
such sub committees will he expected to recruit
assistance from the general public.
7. l'hc executive shall appoint,such persons as coach,
nmanager, etc. and shall negotiate all financial items
connected with the sante.
R. The executive, either directly. or' through sub
committees, shall arrange transportation, mileage,
admission fees. ice rental, insurancle, etc, and for such
fund raising events as are deemed advisable for the
financial success of the club.
