Projects may begain as early as April 1, 1979. Participating Cham- bers of Commerce share their business expertise and familiarity of the local business climate with the students. Local chamber members screen applications, suggest improvements and recommend approval of those projects having the fundamental ingredients for success. Once the student's proposal is accepted he or she must agree to follow certain standard business procedures, make regular reports and repay the loan by October 31, 1979. The Royal Bank of Canada provides interest- free bridge loans to students who are eager to begin their enterprises before government financing is available. A Royal Bank fi-nancial liaison officer provides• banking and financial advice. Publicity director named James Murphy, Artistic Director of the Huron Country Play -heti s c ,--h-as—a-a • nounced the appointment of Cherie Black as the new publicity director. Ms. Black started in show business at the age of 12 years as a dancer and actress. She has appeared in numerous. stage, film and television productions, and was the original "Stifle" on the daytime series, The Days of Our Lives. • Ms. Black recently was publicist for Theatre New Brunswick, where she worked as liaison with the media and co-ordinated all special events, in- cluding a visit by the National Ballet of Canada. She also acted. as press consultant for the Maritime Contemporary Dance Company. To audition in Goderich Huron Country Playhouse Artistic Director, James Murphy, is on the search for local talent. -He is hoping to fill several openings this season with talented young performers from the local region. The musical, The Sound of Music, is based on the life story of the Trapp family, Who lived- in Austria just prior to the Second World War. Murphy is hoping to find all the roles of the seven young Trapp children from °the local 'com- munity. The- family's children consist of two boys, aged 14 and 11 and five girls, aged 16, 13, nine, seven and five. Like the original family, all must be talented singers. Also in the Sound of Music, there are a few opening for adult non- union performers in the chorus. Snme college students frc the local area, trair, xd in theatre arts, are also being sought for a special Playhouse project.
