The Laketown Band is
very dependent upon the
participation of teen -aged
musicians, many of
whom receive their initial
training in the public and
secondary schools' music
programs. Each year, as
student bandsmen
complete their high
school education, their
services are lost to the
band when they leave
home to further their
education. Fortunately, a
few of the students do,
come back to support
band activities during the
summer months.
This fall, the Laketown
Band will lose the ser-
vices of trombonist
Nancy Hearn, tuba
player Jim Craig and
baritone player Greg
Wise, who will graduate
from Central Huron
Secondary School in
Clinton.
Season
From the Goderich
District Collegiate
Institute, graduates Gary
Peters, on flute, and
bassoonist Richard Sizer
will be leaving for higher
education. Mr. Sizer has
been the efficient and
meticulous librarian of
the band for some time
now and has also acted as
Parade Marshal on
numerous occasions.
The remaining ban-
dsmen sincerely thank
these graduates for their
significant contribution
to the success of the band
and wish them well in
their future endeavours.
The band is very
pleased to selcome back
to the trumpet section,
Paul Cummings, now a
local businessman. Mr.
Cummings was a very
valuable member to the
band during his school
years in Goderich.
Because of the constant
turnover in membership,
there is a continual need
for new bandsmen. At the
present time there is a
particular need for
clarinet players. If

Ontario's good summer crops of vegetables and fruits are in the
stores now. Many are fresh -- cabbage, carrots, apples,, potatoes,
Parsnips, rutabagas'and more. Others are canned or.frozen. But
all of them bring you the good taste for which Ontario produce is
famous. If you compare the prices of these Ontario foods with
prices of imports, it's easy to see why Ontario fruits and vege-
tables are one of the good food bargains in your store.
,.And not only do you get good value when you buy Ontario
products, you also help strengthen Ontario's economy.
