This fellow starts shouting early - it's pitch dark and 6 • a.m. but there is another one with the most irritating squawk - whatever - that tries to waken the birds about 4 a.m. The morning star looks like a huge bowl hanging in the sky. Soon the birds will noisily go to breakfast. We have a nice tree in our yard - dark shiny leaves and small flowers (it's for the birds). Another bird sounds off - seems to be saying bir- dee, birdee, birdee, then repeats his words . This must be their second alarm since 15 minutes have passed and there are no other bird noises. Enough of the birds. We were laughing yesterday our eavestrough was drip - dripping from the heavy rain the day before. We have a carport - similar to all others on the street but you look up at it and the ceiling is ridged - like small beams every 15 or 16 inches. Most people's are smooth and 'shiny but their ridges are on top of the roof and catch all the leaves and strings from the queer pine trees and have to be cleaned off - often. On ours, the leaves ,§lide off nicely - no problems. But it is funny about the eavestrough - for sometime I couldn't figure where it was = it is under the roof so very little water gets into it. We probably have the only upside down roof in Florida. There they go' - 6:20 a.m., anotherbird is talking - all by himself - but there is a show of light in the sky - the stars are still shining - but it is now raining—and I hear some thunder. - • • Early morning is one of — the ST p.m es of the -day. You get a chance to listen to nature and what you see and hear at that time sets you up for a good day. 1 think I was tired last night since I can't remember hearing all the 11 o'clock news. Boy! that's something for me since I'm really a nighthawk, but I played shuffleboard for over two hours in the afternoon - as strenuous as bowling -I then two hours of an end - of -the -year meeting of the Park Club and two hours of bridge after that. Only two hours, you say, of bridge? Believe me, the people down here pull in the steps at 10 p.m. I just can't believe it after our bridge games. Of course by 10 o'clock your evening is spoiled for anything but TV, 'reading or sleeping. And so the time flies. It's Rodeo time now. I think we will not go this year but, we have enjoyed it immensely over the years. Quite a . few Canadian riders from the West are always there to help make ' an exciting show. Seven a.m. - broad daylight, but now overcast - still I think it is to be anice day The rain is moving east at 45 m.p.h. (says TV) but shows come and go..vvben seasons are changing. The oceans on eh side of us are so large - only 150 miles across this small peninsula - that the storms just skoot across real fast. So, unless the weather map shows dense cloud covering Florida, it will be nice and sunny. Seven thirty a.m, - out one window all blue sky - the other way cloudy. Have a nice day.
