Chisholm on Monday, March 5 with a good attendance including one guest •and one • new member affirmed and welcomed into the, Chapter. • • The usual opening exercises were held with the Regent, Mrs. R. Neville, presiding. The secretary's and the treasurer's reports were read and accepted. The Regent spoke briefly on the recent passing of one of our valued members, Mrs. G. Dustow. It was noted the I.O.D.E. Chapter signs would be erected shortly at the entrances to the town of Goderich. ' At an • executive meeting held recently at the home of Mrs. H. Late mail If a letter received recently by Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Webster of Dungannon could talk, it might be able to solve the mystery. The letter was , mailed to the Websters from their daughter in Toronto on January 23, 1961 and they just received it at the Dungannon post of- fice last Friday --18 years later! To-• complicate the matter, the original letter with its five cent stamp and R.R. 2 Auburn ad- dress where the Wepsters used to live, had been placed inside, another envelop with a 14 cent' stamp on it and dropped off at the Dungannon post office. Post mistress at Dungannon, Cora Sherwood, says she's worked at the post office for 33 years and she's never seen anything like this happen before. Habel, it was suggested the by-laws be delayed for further study at this time. It was also suggested that the Chapter have a Dessert Bridge in the Legion Hall on May 2. It was decided to have two hampers of groceries as door • prizes with donations accepted for the hampers at the April meeting. A bake sale will be held June 1 and a tag day on June 15 with another bake sale on October 5 to follow. The Regent was chosen as delegate for the annual meeting in Hamilton on April 18 and 19. Other members wishing to go, can contact Mrs. Neville. Ten aprons and 10 nursery bags were on display to be later for- warded to the Provincial Chapter Services in 'Hamilton. It was reported by the Regent that the recfirds . of the Chapter were safely cared for in the museum by the Curator. Additions were read by the Regent, Mrs.; Neville, to the History df Ahmeek Chapter I.O.D.E. covering the years from 1971 to 1979. A vote of thank was given for this fine work to the Regent. 'The meeting closed in form and a lovely lunch was served by the hostess, Mrs. Chisholm and her assistants. NOW IS THE TIME.
