the defence played a
strong game, clearing the
puck and checking in the
corners.
. Scott Garrow scored
first on a deflection of a
hard shot from the point
fired by Todd Jeffrey.
The Suns went ahead by
two , when Ronnie
Chapman fired home a
goal to finish up a neat
passing play from:Chris
Sideris and Scott Garrow.
The only Hanover goal
came early in the second
period when Alexander
scored from McKay on a
shot that took a jarpm
into the net off a Goderich
defender. The Suns came
back quickly as Shawn
Larder, who had been
working very hard in the
checking department all
game, finished off a play
from Sideris and Steve
Schutz.
In the third .period
Goderich took control for
keeps when Davey
Telford took a pass from
cousin Kevin Telford and
drilled it home from
twenty feet out. Garrow
scored again from
Chapman and Kelly Allin;
who had bottled the
Hanover team in their
own end with very sharp
checking. The final goal,
saw Kelly Allin pick up a
pass from Todd Jeffrey
and beat the. Hanover
goalie. The final score,

plug of the game.
Sunday's game, in
Hanover, was a let -down
effort for the Suns. The
Hanover boys came on
strong on their home ice
and the Goderich team,
although they played
good ~defence for most of
the game, couldn't seem
to get the spark they
needed on offence.
. The first two periods
went with no score for
either team. Again Davey
Jewell put in- a strong
game. in the net for
• Goderich as he robbed
Hanover on two. break-
away ,situations to keep
the Suns in the game.
Five minutes into the
third period Hanover
found the mark on a
power play goal that
proved to be the winner.
Hanover scored again on
a strong second effort.
Davey Jewell made the
first stop on a break-
away but the attacker
scored on a quick shot
from the corner that
deflected into the net.
Strong efforts in the
defensive game by Curt
McPherson and Kevin
Telford were the best
part •of the Sun's game,
while Darren Doak put in
a hardskating and
checking game at centre
which could have paid off
in a goal.
This best -of -five series
continues next Saturday
in Hanover and returns to•
Goderich later in the'
week.
