W.M.S. elect officers at annul meet
The annual meeting of
the Huron 'Presbyterial
Women's Missionary
Society of the
Presbyterian Church in
Canada W.D. was held
last Wednesday in the
church parlour with a
good attendance.
President, Mrs. Elmer
Rivers was in charge and
after welcoming
everyone, read a poem
entitled My Friend.
Mrs. Mabel Crouch was
the pianist, and played
several selections as the
ladies arrived. The
hymn, All People that on
Earth do Dwell, was sung
and the devotional period
was taken by members of
the Barbara Kirkman
Society, Mrs. May
Habkirk and Miss Janet
Cluff of Seaforth.
The minutes of the fall
rally were accepted as
read..._b__the. . secretary,.
Mrs. Olive MacDonald of
Seaforth. After
correspondence was
read, the ladies were
reminded that the World
Day of Prayer will be
held on March 2 with the
theme being Spiritual
Growth. This world-wide
programhas• been
prepared by the African
Ladies.

season seems. to have
created a new national
pastime'- divorce.
Stormy weather is
something we need from
time to time to remind us
that we're not really in
charge of anything..

Worship service was
'held in Holmesville
United Church on Sunday
at 1 pm and well attended.
Rev. Oestreicher spoke to
the children on gifts, and
in his prayer thanked God
for gifts of clothing. The
Children then went to
classes. Bill Norman and
Murray Lobb received,
the offering. Next Sunday
the annual meeting will
be held at 1 pm during the
worship service.
The Goderich Township
Women's Institute will
hold a card party on
Thursday, January 25 at 8
prn, ladies to bring a,,few
sandwiches, the ad-
mission is $I.00.
The Goderich Township
Recreation dance will be
held this Saturday,
January 27th at the White
Carnation. Tickets are $10
per couple so phone 524-
6244 or 524-6879• Proceeds
go to the new athletic
Lel-d.
