OMHA rules
on appeal
The executive of the Ontario Minor Hockey
Association, through its Secretary Manager
Vern McCallum, 'has informed the Goderich
Minor Hockey Association that its appeal
against being re -categorized from 'BB' to 'A'
has been upheld.
This means that in the OMHA playoffs, which
begin in early February, Goderich teams will
compete in the "til3" division, the same
division in which they were classed last season.
Dick Madge:who acted as spokesman for the
GMHA at the. appeal hearing in Cambridge,
expressed satisfaction with the ruling adding
that it was the only logical decision open to the
0M1 -1A.
The appeal entered by the GMHA centered
around the age distribution of the town's
population, the drawing area of the association,.,
the number of players registered in the GMHA
and the manner in which the Western Ontario
AthletiO Association executive had dealt with
the re-classificatiton.'
